Remove/Replace Radiator
I can't find any procedure on how to do this online....
Before I go trying (and probably breaking some plastic parts), can someone post the correct procedure if they have it :-) Thanks! Ash. Edit: Thanks to those that replied, yes, it is an F13, very helpful replies and my radiator is now in and not leaking!! Last edited by Ash BMW; 11-15-2023 at 02:31 AM.. Reason: Update informtaion |

If the 2013 640i showing in your garage is correct, you can also search for the same procedure on the same year or really any f10 535i. They are very similar and can give you a good idea of where to start. Have you searched around YouTube? It’s not always the best source of information, but it surprises me what I can find there soemtimes. |

Ditto above…you don’t specify which engine you have…so surrounding connections could be slightly different.
When I pull up the radiator for my 650ix GC and check its part number…I see that the pre-LCI & LCI versions of the 5 series f07/f10/f11, and the f06/f12/f13 that have the n63/n63tu engine all use the same radiator. I would surmise that it’s the same for the other engines (I6 & diesel) used in the 5 & 6 series. If you prefer not to reveal which model/engine you have…simply look up your radiator in one of the online part database sites (www.realoem.com or www.bimmercat.com ) then click on the 11 digit part number for radiator to get a part number cross reference. As mentioned above…there’s probably a video or procedure uploaded to the internet for at least one of the models if you do a google search. Good luck. Edit: i found this video in less than a minute doing a google search for: “replace BMW f10 radiator”…its for the I6 engine

The main thing that had me confused were the hidden bolts under the plastic airflow cowling, I'm not sure how the engineers designing this thought that was an acceptable idea. Not even an access tab to flip out or anything, they just expect you to push things out of the way with a force disturbingly high for plastic..... Anyway, new radiator in and my next problem to solve :-) |
