Moonstone Metallic (hard to capture essence in photos)…is just like its namesake (the moon) and looks different based on the type of light and conditions at the time you’re looking at it. Just like the moon has been referred to as blue, silvery, red, etc., Moonstone Metallic can look off-white, silver, light gray, reddish-beige, light gold, and light blue.

Wow I’ve never seen that colour before. It’s lovely, very unique and indeed appears different in certain lights. Gorgeous 👍🏼

Thanks.

Here’s some pics from an M6 in Moonstone that kind of captures that its not one of the regular BMW silver/gray/beige/off-white colors:

M6 looks epic in this colour, and love the stock M6 wheels.

Lovely 🥰. Yeah mine is sapphire black too and while it’s an absolute devil to keep clean it’s just gorgeous when it is and the sun hits it right 🥰.

Have you ever got a glimpse of all the various colored metallic flakes in Sapphire Black? If not, it’s very interesting to see the gold, red, green, blue, white, etc flakes that are usually not noticible…but if the sun is hitting it just right, and you’re standing near the car….you can see them.

I had never noticed how many different colors there were until one sunny afternoon after giving my 1st 2013 6 series a wash, I opened the back door and the angle of the sun on the rear door jamb was just right. At first I thought something was wrong, then figured out that it was just the way the overall SBM color reacts in light.

In the pic below you can see all the colored flakes…but if you look at the far right of the jamb pic that is still in the shade…the color appears like its a solid black paint. Then from a distance it just looks black.

Hey Qsilver7, Yes stunningly beautiful isn’t it when spotless clean! I have noticed the multicoloured metallic flecks around the rear haunches particularly when I dry they car after a wash and if it’s bright sunshine you will see all the flecks. The other colours I like are carbon black and the moonstone colour above! I have never seen one in this colour before and it looks gorgeous.
Prior to this Beemer I have never owned a black car. Frankly it was the hassle of keeping a black car continuously clean that used to put me off buying one. However when I first saw my car for sale by the then owner I literally couldn’t wait to have it ! You get used to caring for black cars and now I honestly love my car in sapphire black.
Love your grand coupe btw , looks stunning 😍

Hi yes I've noticed all the metallic flakes in the bright sunlight. As JBF650 said, this car is such a bugger to keep clean! My car is also a scratch magnet I swear. If I ever swap to an M6 I just can't stomach another black 6 series I think.
All stunning cars on this page, the big 6ix is a head turner for sure.

Not the best photos, but she got a well deserved wash today. Took a trip from Florida up to Massachusetts a couple weeks ago. I’ve run through a couple touchless washes, but this was the first hand wash since the trip.

Color: Imperial Blue Metallic
