dead climate - Apple CarPlay upgrade
Well after doing a recent Apple CarPlay upgrade I put everything back together and now my climate control does not work. It’s on heat only, but also seems to have a mind if it’s own where the blower will come on full speed for a few seconds then turn back off. None of which is taking any command from the climate control. I thought it might be the climate control module itself and bought replacement, but this did not fix it.
It’s still hot and I need some AC. Appreciate any help. |

How did you do the upgrade? Was it a module that connects between the car and iDrive display? I had this happen way back when I did a similar upgrade and it was just due to the climate control connections not being seated correctly. Just double check that they are firmly in place and that none of the pins are bent or damaged.

I experienced this when installing a particular brand of CarPlay adapter. It was super buggy and did not work well at all so I returned it and got another one. It worked lika a charm and the climate control issues went away too.

I’d start first with double checking all connections you had to disconnect to make sure something obvious wasn’t left unplugged.
Then if that doesn’t solve it I’d revert back to when it was working and see if that corrects the issue. It might be a pain to undo your work, but it is the simplest was to check if the upgrade itself is causing the issue. |
