Lightbulb AC Schnitzer Tunes M6 Gran Coupe to 665 HP / 652 LB-FT

BIMMERPOST NEWS
AC Schnitzer Tunes M6 Gran Coupe to 665 HP / 652 LB-FT

COMMENTS

The 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe boasts plenty of power out of the box, but adequate power has never stopped the aftermarket from shooting for more.

AC Schnitzer has now tuned the M6 Gran Coupe to an impressive 665 HP / 652 LB-FT, up from the factory quoted 560 HP / 500 LB-FT.

No exact details yet on the hardware upgrades used to achieve these power levels and the software has yet to be finalized, but that should be forthcoming, eventually. For now, we get a preview through this video.

I wonder how well the transmissions would hold up long term with the that much power. Those ceramics will def come into use!

AC Shitzer is washed up and all they do is ruin beautiful cars with their outdated ugly parts. Just my opinion.

My car is very close to those numbers at the wheels... Do they have springs available for the M6 and GC?? That would be nice ..

Why aren't these companies focusing on weight reduction??

The cars have plenty of power but they're pigs.

weight reduction is expensive in $/gains. Its hard to market handling and dynamics, easy to sell power. And the aftermarket has been tuning this way for generations, change is R&D costly

Look at how much people are paying for body kits and other ridiculous things, 2/3 of the BMW 'Performance' falls in this category.

1. People will pay if you package it right and truly think through the design.

2. Production costs of lightweight materials continues to tumble.

It seems every BMW petrol turbo motor is under rated about 10%. I wonder why.

if thats the case, then this would only be a 50hp bump.

Now that's what the M6 should be about raw power.

For an AC car at least this is a little more reserved. The wheels are nice but way to big and heavy. Looks at least 22 inch with the minimal profile left. Lets hope BMW focuses more on weight reduction the next round like porsche, audi and land rover have done.

Can performance figures be posted in kilowatts and Newton meters in brackets next to the HP and Lb-Ft figures? I'm sure a lot of other countries understand metric units more than imperial units.

496 kW and 884 Nm is insane!!!
