New 640d convertible arrive and sent back!
My new Mineral White 640d arrived this morning (day late) after the car transporter had a technical issue yesterday. The car looked great initially until I saw the roof on the drivers side (on the right for those across the pond) and found out exactly what the issue with the transporter was yesterday. The transporter has leaked hydraulic oil over the roof!
Not a very happy chap at the moment - car has been sent back to the dealer for a new roof fitting. I've demanded that they supply me with a like for like loan car until I'm happy with the new roof. The supplying dealership have agreed to supply a loan car from Thursday - guess the contracted transporter company will be getting a very large bill for the car hire and replacement roof. I'm going to be putting as many miles on the loan car as possible...... The really annoying thing is that the transporter company clearly knew there was an issue yesterday afternoon when I called them asking why they were late delivering my new car. It would have been much better if they had confessed at that time and I could have started getting the replacement roof organised earlier. |

This is so wrong. After months of waiting (I presume), this had to happen at the very last mile. Similar thing happened to me years back. We all feel for you.
Have fun "testing" the loaner. Look at it as getting to eat your cake now and getting another later. |

Thanks for the support - not BMWs' fault but the contracted transport company.
at the moment, as long as I've got a loan car I'm keeping the miles off mine. My neighbour had an issue with a Range Rover last year and ended up with a loaner for 4 months from the dealership - 10,000 miles later on the loaner, he gets a brand new replacement car |

It took 2 loaners for 9 months before I finally got the E92 I ordered. The first one turned up without the electrically adjustable seats I ordered. The second one (which was air-flown by the dealer) turned up with electric seats but missing the iDrive, which I ordered as well. 9 months after the first car, I finally received the car matching the order. So yes, I ate two E92 cakes before getting a brand new one at the end. By then, I have already done all the testing needed and knew what I can and should do with the car. As a bonus, the new car came with an updated iDrive and M suspension. Stuff that BMW added to the later production cars. Is BMW replacing your car with another?

They are loaning me another 640d vert. It was either a like for like (or as close as possible) or I would be hiring something appropriate from Avis Prestige and sending them the bill. |

That's pretty crap!! Who let this get to you, the customer?! Total stupidity!
One thing I must add though, despite the damage, that is an absolutely gorgeous car and I'm hugely envious!!

unfortunately this was outside the control of the Dealership. The damaged was inflicted during transit from the dealership to my home. The transport company couldn't care less.

How is the salesman involved in this process? Normally there is a lot of features to explain and paperwork to do as well...... Just curious
