you don't have to take it off fully, but there are four screws or so on the top of the bumper that can be taken out easily. taking just those four (maybe 6) screws out let the top of the bumper come out a few inches, which in turn gives you just enough access with a really long skinny screw driver to pop some of the tabs that hold the grill in.
if you search the f10 forums, the method is probably pretty similar |

I got my dealer to do it when doing a oil change, told them I know it's 10 mins of a job and they did it for 20 quid. That was a my BMW dealership and not a Indi. Just incase your not comfortable doing it yourself
Another dealer quoted 120 quid to fit them ....... |

I changed the grille in my M6 GC. Same method as the F10; just pull the grille off with force. It will not break. No need to remove the bumper. Very easy. You just need balls and force to pull it out.

It was a tight squeeze to get my arm under the top of the bumper to reach the taps from the back, but the method I'd recommend rather than just pulling it off. I fitted black grills, or atleast tried to. They didn't fit well and so I put the OEM grills back on. Glad I didn't damage any tabs taking them off.

The 2 series and 6 series are the hardest to pull by Hand (with gloves of course) If you decide to do the yank method use a leather belt in the slots don't go to wide and TAPE AROUND GRILL EDGED to protect the paint.
