Works awesome for me. Super hot day in Miami today and yet I rolled around for about 50 miles today, windows down, A/C off, and only the seat ventilation to keep me cool. I have noticed however, that when set to full blast (3 blue lights) for extended periods of time, it does automatically set itself down to the medium setting (2 blue lights). When this happens I just set it back to the highest setting manually again.

I honestly feel the same exact way. I feel like it becomes a heated seat more than a ventilated seat. I want to take mine into BMW and ask if the wire got crossed or something. For ventilated seats its brutal. If anyone has had this before a little info would be great.

I think mine work ok. To be honest, what with the A/C blowing as well I haven't noticed them too much. Maybe it's meant to be subtle.

Mine don't seem to work. Neither do the seats in my wife's 7 series. I could feel them work in my '07 Benz.

I had my car coded and they dropped the temperature settings on the seats by 15 degrees. I can definitely feel it now. Get your car coded!

Ventilated seats is something I wish my car had. Sure would be nice to have cold air blasting up my rear side on the 100+ degree Kansas days.

Interesting. My car was coded shortly after I got it as well with every possible option. Maybe that's why I feel the seat cooling more than others are reporting.

My car was coded by one of the most reputable members on this board - we went through each option one by one, including some double-secret stuff: cooling seat temps never came up....

Agree on coding. The fan runs stronger after coding.

Coding is the programming of functions on the vehicle that may be deactivated in because of regulations some markets or some other reasons. For example here, in the US video in motion is deactivated on the car, but the car is still capable of this function. You can code it into the car by having someone connect a computer running a certain software that accesses your vehicles onboard computer and enabling the function. I find most dealers don't dabble into coding, despite all of them having the capability to do so (they do it on every new vehicle that arrives at their door to disable the shipping security mode) possibly because they like to leave the car's functions the way BMW NA intended them to be. However there are plenty of people who offer this service and can even do it remotely by having you connect your own computer into the car and then remotely enabling the functions over the Internet.

You don't go to your dealer to have coding done.

If you're on Bimmerfest, Rich is from NYC and can do remote coding. His handle there is Octopump.

When I first got my 2011 535i I had the cooled seat feature and I kept expecting to feel cold air blowing out, but learned that it's not that at all, that's it's actually a fan system inside the seat that pulls heat away from your body, hence the "ventilation". My 2015 640i has the same option which I've used a couple of times and it doesn't feel quite as intense as my old 5 series.

Actually, Rich did my coding at the dealership on the day I picked it up. In fact, he did it with my sales rep before I even arrived.
