Default Drive Settings

What's up guys, first time M6 owner here.

Has anyone figured out how to code their M6 to remember their last throttle, suspension, steering settings? Every time I turn the car on they default back to the lowest settings - and I can't stand the economy throttle setting with a manual transmission, as there's too much of a delay. My outgoing 750 did the same crap and defaulted back to Comfort which was annoying as well. I've done a fair amount of coding on my own but have never figured out how to change any of this. I always feel like I'm starting up a jet when I have to hit one button after another every time I start the car.

It defaults back when you start up again, but you can program the M1/M2 button on the steering wheel for whatever drive settings you want, then you just push that button, and again to confirm and all the settings are where you wanna be.

BTW, Confirmation is just when you have selected MDM or DSC OFF

Oh yeah, that's what I've been using for the mean time. Would like to skip this step if I could though. I'll keep sniffing around through the coding forums to see if anything comes up.

I have not seen any coding to skip the default setting yet

M1 is for normal driving and M2 is for fun. Still it does involve a step before taking off. I just got used to it. I wish someone would code my car so that the sideview mirrors would close automatically when I turn the engine off. Dealer refuses to do it for some reason and I am not that tech savy.

There is no coding option for this. It's just how BMW builds M cars. Since they want the car to be usable every day on any road condition, the most sensible settings are the default ones. Then you have the option to set the M1 and M2 buttons to whatever settings you prefer and go from there. There used to be only one M button before as well, I preferred it that way.

M1 it is. The economy throttle setting probably isn't too bad for you DCT guys, but that mode combined with the turbo lag really sucks on a manual. Sometimes I forget to hit M1 and am reminded when there's some sloppy rev match between shifts.

I've looked and looked for a coding option and gave up on it. I have it burned in my mind now to Press M1 or M2 twice right after start up. M1 is MDM and M2 is DSC Off.
