Brake pads....

Any gurus here put on different brake pads for their F12/F13/F06?

I put on Akebono Euro ultra on the front for my F06 650i 10 days ago, and did multiple 100km/h-10km/h stops over the period. There is definitely less brake dust, and the brakes do not squeal (not that they did much squealing before).

However, the Akebono did have a bit less INITIAL BITE than stock pads. The stock pads will almost immediately bite the brakes and slow down as I touch the brake pedals but the Akebono have next to nothing if I just touch the brakes. But if I go maybe 1/2" more, then the Akebono slows the car just like the stock pads.

Any other pads that can provide the initial bite like the stock pads but with next to zero dust like the Akebonos? I know this is probably a tall order but never hurt to ask......

How about EBC RedStuff?

Based on the posts here, I wonder if the OEM F12/13 pads are different between overseas and U.S. markets.

I rarely hear about brake dust issue in the U.S., but have seen multiple reports about the brake dust on the F12/13 in non-US markets.

Probably the US drivers use their brake less because of the low speeds they are allowed to drive in the US!

Limits of 60 km/h (37mph) on ALL roads and 80 km/h (50mph) on two bridges 4.7km and 2.2km in Macau. The wound is bone-deep where I am.
