New Goodies! Just received a few must desired items from my priority list today.

Will probably install them by middle of next week. I'm having too much fun with the stock look of the GC. My car is very rare still in my area. (Upper West Side)

- High Gloss Grilles
- BMW 356 Wheels set * ETA is today afternoon.
- Rubber Floor Matts
- License Plate Bracket * Not sure why i had to buy this on my own. It should come standard with the car.

I bought my own plate frame as well. The dealer's seemed chintzy, so I picked one up at the PC - which was surprisingly cheaper than ordering it!

southern6er22 -

Did you get yours painted to match the color of your exterior? I did this for my previous car in Alpine White to match the X6 but now i'm getting tire of doing this for every new car. I just dont understand why can't BMW just paint these at the plant.

I just noticed your car is black!!! But have you ever considered in the past to paint the license bracket?

There was a small bracket that came on my car that separates the plate from the paint. The frame I got also has some rubber "feet" to prevent the metal from coming in contact with the paint.

Fortunately, I don't have to have a front plate in my state - one of the few benefits of living in Bama.

Hey, are you replacing the grilles yourself, or are you taking it to the BMW center? I ask because I was going to do the switch myself in my driveway today, but I must admit that I got a little intimidated when I popped the hood because the grilles are not easy access like they were on the X6.
Let me know if you have any DIY grille replacing tips, because I'm a little reserved when it comes to taking apart a car that costs over 100 grand, lol

Really!! I'm still holding off replacing them until next week! I must say the X6 was one of the easiest grilles replacement. I will take a look later today...

Lol! Looks like we are all in the same boat. I was gonna try yesterday, but decided not to once I realiZed they are not that easy to get to as they might have been on other cars.
I don't want to go to a service center just for the grille replacement, but with just over 1500 miles, I don't think I will have another reason to stop there anytime soon... decisions, decisions.
So now it looks like it might turn into a race to see out of the three of us, who will decide to start turning wrenches first, or who will just stop into a service center and hope it doesn't take over an hour to swap out kidney grilles...
Now I am starting to get it wHen some of the other guys on this forum say that BMW is making the easy stuff more and more complicated every year, lol

They definitely make it more difficult these days. I am a DIY type, and not too happy with their new packaging so far.

I'll look into grill removal this weekend. I think I got some ideas on how to properly remove it without dropping the whole bumper. If I don't destroy it, then I'll share.

You got it! I actually plan on going to my cousin's house this weekend, and his garage has been our car workshop for many years. I was gonna take the bike out there just to go for a spirited ride, but I will take the car instead and enlist his help on the grille swap. I will definitely let you guys know the outcome.
