UK / Coding Options

So looking through the list of things to change with coding, I wondered if anyone here had done it and could give their view on which ones and the impact.. obviously some are self explanatory.

Some coding ideas and reactions for you

Hello Matt, I had my M6 coded just after I bought it in March. Wow, am I happy! Here's what I got (and why I like it):
1. Turn signals in HUD (b/c I set my steering wheel low, obscuring the lights)
2. Radio/nav turn off when you open the door (to avoid annoying people)
3. Eliminate chimes, warning signals, all that BS
4. Seat settings remembered (ventilation, active seats)
5. Adaptive high-beam (yes, it works in the U.S. after coding!)
6. Add rear lights to "daytime running lights" (looks very cool from behind)
7. Rear-view camera operates at speed if you activate it
Drawback: weirdly, you have to push the "start" button twice to start up
The fellow I used is CodeMyCar.com, cost US$125+OBDII cable
He sends you a Chinese menu, pick what you want, same price for all or one
Items #1, #3 and #4 were worth all the money, as far as I'm concerned

Those three are really on my nerve! I wish they were default factory setting
specially the signal, I have the same problem when I want to lower the steering wheel

Turn signals in HUD are a must, that is one thing that anoys me as my steering is set low obscuring the dash indicators.
Rear camera at speed with zoom is good...can it be coded to record on to a DVD or other device ;-)

Loads of other stuff I'd pick.

I'd be surprised if you can override the 20Mph.. that could cause damage to the hood / mechanics... if you could and it broke could be an awkward conversation if they found it had changed

Will do John, I plan to pay up in a few weeks when the delivery time approaches.. I probably won't code the car prior to the run in service anyway.
