BIMMERPOST NEWS
2013 M6 UK and German Pricing Announced at 20-28% Higher than F10 M5
92
COMMENTS

The new 2013 BMW coupe (F13) and convertible (F12) [official thread] have been priced for the UK and German market.

The M6 coupe will start in the UK at £93,795 and in Germany at EUR 123,600. [Full German pricelist and order guide]

To give other markets an idea of how much the M6 may be priced, the M6 coupe's German starting price is 20% higher than the German F10 M5, which starts at EUR 102,800. The UK M6 coupe starting price is 28% higher than the UK F10 M5 which starts at £73,040.

For a little math fun and speculation, how much might the M6 coupe and convertible cost in the US? Any guess would be very speculative since US pricing for the F10 M5 won't be announced until the NYIAS in April, but we previously made a calculated guess of $93,000 for the US M5 model (see calculation).

Applying the same 20-28% increase for the M6 coupe results in $111,600 - $119,040 starting price for the M6 coupe in the US. (* It's important to note however that the U.S. market doesn't just follow other markets and has its own pricing structure. We calculated the US price just for speculative purposes.)

£93,795 in the UK confirmed.

UK Release date of September 15th 2012 for both models.

I don't see any mention of the pricing of the Carbon Ceramic Brakes in the German price list... Would have been interesting to do the maths on that.

Looks like again you can't have a leather dash without going for a very expensive 'full' leather option - EUR 6,650.

B&O looks to be the same price as for the standard 6.

Wow.

MSRP on my car was $113k, which was optioned out except for full leather and heated steering wheel.

If the US price of an M6 coupe with options is going to top $120k then that's enough to make me consider some other cars.

Which other car do you consider? Aston Martin? MB? I expect the M6 will be higher then last model. Its much nicer.

The CL63, Aston, BGTv8 are all more than the proposed $120k.

I wonder how much the f32 will cost over the f30. Hopefully not 20%+.

That is tough. Starting to get into Aston money. V8 Vantage starts at $120k. Aston's are the most beautiful cars on the planet.

the new M6 coupe will be atleast $130K+ when comparably equipted to our beasts (not including taxes mind you), and thats not considering the new ceramic brakes nor the b&o option or the LEDs for headlights. I was shocked when the 650 was announced and i priced it reasonable equipted for 100K not including taxes, bmw has decided to move the car even further into the stratusphere, and as you note, it puts alot of other cars into play in this price range. I guess they believe they can sell it, but im suprised at this move, especially since the M5 doesnt seem to be getting the same price increase as compared to the former e60 model while they still share the engine, it makes the M5 look reasonable...

A well equiped F12/F13 650i can easily hit 110k. I guess the US price for the M6 would start from 120k at least.

Wow, I love BMW, have owned 9 of them the last 15 years. Am interested in the new M6 but looks like they are entering territory of some tough competition. Aston Martin, 911 GT3, Jag XKR. What the heck will the next M3 cost, over 80K?

I think the LED might come as standard on M6? It's a $2,900 option for 650i which has both updates of LED headlights and 20" wheels. So, the LED itself would cost maybe $1k? That's like nothing on a 130k+ car.

Well, let's hoping...

Seriously, the AMv8 may start at $120k but aside from looks what does it have over the M6. Damn sure ain't reliability or the cost of ownership.

ive seen the test cars with the xenons so im not sure they'll be standard. im sure they're thinking the opposite, keep the same price across the range and milk those already paying the 130K

I think M6 is still competative in terms of leasing. But it's an M car, the lease deal for sure would not be as good as regular F12/F13.

agreed, the best thing going for the M6 is that it is a true daily driver, ive happily driven her every day since new and all service is of course covered.

Now for me, id look at the Maserati if im spending 130K+, the sound of the car alone is worth the admission price!

Never really owned an M6 and no idea how much the insurance would cost for a 27-y-old. But I did get a quote for a 2011 Vantage at 10k/year.

How about the Maserati Gran Turismo or the new 911 Carrera S which has pretty much identical claimed performance figures (4.3s 0-60, 188mph) and the msrp is $96,400.

As much as I love this new M6, and trust me I DO, I would go for the 911 and save a bit of cash in the process.

The Maserati has the Ferrari motor but does it have the Ferrari 7year unlimited mileage maintenance plan as well ?

I don't understand the M6 / 911 comparison. They are really not the same type of car.

No disrespect intended ...

Anyone drive a new 911 turbo or xkrs yet? Drove past an xkrs and it sounded like weak sauce... Astons are the way to go if you go Brit... Is BMW sliding everything to the right to make room for new series and I/E cars?
