San Marino M6

So my neighbor happens to be this nice old man in his 70's who likes to buy a new car every 6-7 months. From a 7 series, to a Fully loaded mustang cobra, 2011 cl600... clearly likes his cars. Anyway, he told me the other day he bought a new car and when he told me "M6" I figured he got a good deal on a v10. I went downstairs and what I was amazing to see was this beauty. 2013 san merino blue m6 convertible. Beautiful lines. Sorry for the shitty iphone pictures, but this color under the sunlight looks absolutely gorgeous. It is without a doubt an eye catcher. Here are the pics, iphone4s, one of them was on instagram...The hard part was hearing how much he paid to have the first one on the floor.. 142k! the blk 335is is my car for now that is also pictured..making the jump soon.. enjoy.

Nice color. Here in Dallas I heard they sold the first one for $145K. Unbelievable to pay that much of a premium for it.

I am considering one in the future but need to save some $$$ before I can do the switch.

It is without a doubt outrageous to pay that much just to be the first one with it. And after looking at your sig, I must say, I love your M3. congrats on owning her. The m6 is nice, obviously it's the "cool" car because it is still new. But I still think at this point in my life I would rather for the E92 M3 with KW coils and full exhaust setup and call it a day. There is no screaming noise coming from this car as there was in previous M cars. VERY disappointing, that was one of my favorite parts

Exactly the same as the one I bought two weeks ago! I'm really loving it compared to my 2012 650i which it replaced. And I paid MSRP, no more and no less.

You have the right idea. I just couldn't pay more than MSRP as it is just money down the drain. If you have so much money that you don't mind paying an extra $20k that it doesn't matter, then more power to you. If I were buying an M6 and really wanted/needed the car ASAP, then I'd probably be willing to pay MSRP, especially with some other incentive from the dealer (tire care, free floor mats, etc. - just something that showed they cared slightly about my purchase rather than "We aren't budging just because we can get away with it.").

I wouldn't be surprised if the incentives start showing up toward 4th quarter. BMW is surely going to try desperately to hold their new title - #1 luxury car sales - and dealerships are going to want their numbers to look good, too. The dealerships make a ridiculous amount off of these cars at MSRP (about $8200 is what they make using the normal formula of MSRP being 7.25% above invoice). Once the initial boom period is over I'm sure they'll start taking a lot less profit just for the sake of moving M6s through their dealership. I can't blame a business for wanting to maximize profits when there are so many so willing to pay X above MSRP, but I just don't have it in me (or my bank accounts) to pay $20k more to get a car 6 or 8 months before the guy down the street.

Yep, got 5 years of tire and wheel insurance for free. Also got some freebies when I picked up a 2013 X3 last week :-)

And you bought a F12 650i from them less than a year ago before you got the M6, if I'm remembering correctly? I'm surprised they didn't drop below MSRP for the loyalty alone...

Yes, bought a 535i and 650i from them last year. Did get a good break on a 2013 X3 which I bought a week ago. They went way below invoice on it.

So, the key to getting a good price on an M6 is to buy it at MSRP and then buy a second Bimmer to let them stack up the discounts. Sounds good to me! #extremefirstworldnegotiationstrategies

You'd be amazed at how many people stop and stare at this car. Not to mention, people who actually wait for you to come back to the car to tell you how beautiful it is.

I'm so surprised with all the attention. My 650i never got it. Strange....
