640 Gran Coupe price ridculous

Does this price seem high to anyone:
http://www.hendrickbmwcharlotte.com/...2df4eb39b8.htm

Its higher than most of the 7 series on the site. There's going to be a 650 gran coupe right? Hate to see how much that would cost.

Price seems about right given it has M Sport, full LEDs, Driver Assistance Package, 20" rims, full Nappa with contrast stitching and ceramic controls, B&O, active cruise control, and all of the rear seat climate controls.

I would personally never pay anywhere close to that price for a 640i when a 650i is available for $8k to $10k more. I was happy to pay the 6er premium for my coupe, but it was a V8 with xDrive that also happened to have a pretty hefty options list. I didn't mind the fact that I paid more for it than every other 750Li on the lot primarily because it is a 6 Series coupe. You could build a 750Li with nearly as many options on it for that $115k price tag and have A LOT more rear legroom and overall comfort as well as the V8.

I'm not saying it is a bad car. I'm just saying that I can't see most people who can afford a $115k car not spending a few thousand extra to boost the performance figures with a 650i GC (0-60 in 4.4 seconds, per BMW) or getting a loaded 750i or 750Li for the same money. I can't imagine that a 640i GC handles better than a 750i (SWB). I could be wrong as I haven't done a side-by-side comparison, but just my thoughts.

Disclaimer: the above comments are based on U.S. pricing. I know that many countries pay waaaay more for these cars and an even bigger difference between 640i and 650i vehicles, so the pricing differences between models is a more significant concern.

I guess. It still caught me off guard. I was thinking the 6GC was to compete with cars like the a7 and cls. So I kinda expected it to be in that range.

Many people were thinking the same and if it's any consolation this price is still cheaper than what we have here.

So I just built a 650i, thats right the 650i not 640i, gran coupe with all of the same options on the bmw website and it was cheaper than this one. Even with an individual paint color. So it seems this dealer is placing some sort of premium on the the GC cars.

Its insane, and doesnt add up, I dont see mention of any individual packages so I think they may be adding some dealer premium as you cant get to this msrp on a 640gc...if you add all the options as listed, the msrp is $105K, which is still insane for the car. THe price quote they list has to have a $10K dealer premium..imagine $40K over base, anyone that buys these things are mad, no value proposition here, you can get an M6 for the same price.

New to this forum but thought I would add some info on UK pricing

I just ordered the 640 GC MSport this week and paid £68000 over here, thats $110,000 at current FX.

The dealer says that they expect to sell 2000 each year in the UK and there is unlikely to be heavy discounted in the near future because it is new and demand exceeds supply.

The 640 coupe is a different matter, they have 2000 in stock at UK dealers that they can not sell and are supporting it heavily, offering deals up to £10k off MRSP.

Amazing the price jump when you add the night vision, active cruise, etc. that the 640i GC has. It's baffling to me that they can have a $108k 650i and be selling a 640i for $7k more. I can't believe that 650i doesn't have the Nappa dash and contrast stitching. It's got all of the essentials + B&O yet they left off an extremely important aesthetic option for this car. That would be a deal breaker for me on this car. I'd wait a couple months and special order before spending $108k on a 6er without the various aesthetic options/necessities.

My guess would be that they thought that a fully loaded 640i would be easy to sell for people who just want to be the first GC owners that's why the 650i is cheaper. over here they bring a fully loaded car at launch and charge extra premium and take advantage of people who wants to be the first owners of a new car.
