*****UPDATE****

The car has been at HR Owen park royal for engine to be out, stripped and ready for inspection. The Head technical manager for UK arrived for inspection today and guess what guys? Pistons and bores were out of tolerance, not by much but slightly. They ordered a new block with new valve seals and gasket.
So technically a brad new engine on route.

HR owen have been phenomenal.

Worrying for only 18K mile car, the engine to be in this condition. Says a lot about the quality of these engines. Bullet proof engines they are certainly not. Or shall I say its been built rightly? or not been run-in correctly?

Very interesting and a positive result in my opinion.

Do you have the approximate build date of your car or last 7 digits of the VIN handy ?

I have heard of a couple S63TU engines with failed rod bearings at higher mileages. Never come across what they say is the issue though. It seems it was loose, in terms of piston rings to bore wall tolerance. Not too bad and generally should promote greater power output, but definitely would be a oil guzzler too.

Do you have any more information from them or even a copy of any sort of stripped down engine report at all ?

My build date was march or April 2013 I suppose. don't have the VIN number handy.
surprising for a car of this age.
Hope the oil consumption will now be fixed forever.
One of the fuel pump on the car is also going.

1980 E26  [10.00]
2003 BMW M5  [10.00]
A March/April 2013 car is going to be within the first 100 RHD cars, it may even have been a press car. VIN will be between DV74010 and DV74098. I don't know if you have a private plate, but Press cars and VINs that I know of in that date range are :

DV74019, YH13 VLG, Sakhir Orange
DV74020, YH13 VHY, Frozen Silver
DV74027, YH13 VHJ, Tansanite
RJ64 OYY was also a press car but I don't know it's VIN

Anyway, at least they have acknowledged that there is a problem.

yes and a great result on the back of HR owen's perseverance.

If anybody wants a trustworthy dealer, Nicki the service manager and Matthew Ellul, the service advisor are legends.

Personally I think the s63 lumps are very good. I'd hazard a guess that this one was ragged from new by a lease owner or only had the BMW servicing carried out which is stupidly spaced out for a 600hp engine!

What about the opposite, an older owner who so babied car in the break-in and post causing high oil consumption? Is that possible?

Early M6 build date 2012 or 2013??

Did you mean 2012? My 2013 has an August 2012 build date (lhd).

Sorry, I was just looking at Gran Coupes, you have an F13 which has been around quite a lot longer.

I see a lot of card from factory that are driven by BMW company drivers, demo cars plus hire purchase lease cars driven without being broken in, that's where the problem starts.
