Found a replacement for my M6

My M affair lasted since 2012 up until two months ago. I've gone through 2013 X5M, 2014 M6GC and 2015 M4. All great, great, awesome cars!

I appreciate all of the owners members of the forum for their advice, expertise and comradery.

BMW will always have a special place in my heart, and to be fair to the brand my wife owns a 2017 X5 edrive. So I haven't abandoned BMW.

But I was finally able to get into my dream car in June. A Father's Day present to myself - 2017 991.2 Turbo S. Some pics below it getting ceramic pro coating.

How does it compare to the m4? I was wondering what I would change to after my m6 GC.

Oh my gosh, night and day difference. Really can't use the two in the same sentence.

Power, handling, brakes, acceleration are on a completely different level in a Turbo S. Which is really not surprising considering the hp difference. 911 feels glued to the road with telepathic steering.

Interior quality is also better in a 911. Burmester sound system is better than B&O of the M6 (and my wife's X5).

M4 in itself is a great car and I really enjoyed it, but, honestly, can't compare to the 911.

Mega motor,
Was at a drag meeting last weekend, Stock Turbo S 2017 model was consistently doing 10.8s and 134 mph for quarter mile.

Love the car and 911 interior has gotten so much better over the years, but it still feels cheap compared to the panamera or cayenne interior.

Turbo interior is definitely nicer, but it is still a bit lackluster in the luxury department. I wouldn't say it's better than the M6 full leather interior. Every sound system option sucks in M6. I don't really listen to music in this car anyway. I try to focus on my backfire farts.

Wow you did it! They said every true car guy will get a 911, just when!
I’m in a similar boat, driving M since 2012, always want a 911 but haven’t pull the trigger yet, but recently I find myself reading more and more 911 model reviews, and researching on prices ...
But I wouldn’t jump on a Turbo S right away, because there isn’t anymore ladders to climb except going true exotic cars which isn’t best all around cars.
Enjoy your new ride! Tells us more about your driving experiences!

Thank you sir. The reviews of the Turbo S are all to the point. It is a true everyday useable supercar. In comfort mode it's as efficient and quiet as it can be, upshifting into highest gear as soon as possible. Suspension is firm, yet forgiving, soaking up the bumps without jarring. Sport dials it up a notch and is probably the best for every day spirited driving. Sport plus simply goes berserk with PDK always holding lowest gear and you notice yourself in 2nd and 3rd gear in city driving, not exactly relaxing, and certainly more for track purposes. PDK shifts are downright violent in sport plus. How the car transforms from comfort to sport plus is amazing. In sport and sport plus it will kick the rear out a bit when cornering and accelerating hard, so can surprise you sometimes, but never betray. Turbo S gathers speed at an alarming rate. Triple digits arrive before you can realize what's going on. All in all I don't know of another car which combines everything so well without really any compromises.

Good luck in your search of a perfect 911. For me, it was a natural progression from the M family.

I'm about to add a base Panamera to my fleet, but this thing is expensive..
I have been eyeing the new Panamera since a year ago, but now at this price I wonder if I should look into getting a base 911..

101K MSRP Panamera, volcano grey with red interior

7K drive off 1400 a month including tax, wheel/tire protection and 20k maintenance.

Just did the Porsche experience 1.5 hours in Atlanta Turbo and GT3 and the are way better machines than M5 and M6 but not as comfy daily drivers or offer same amenities but more driver cars for sure!

That 2.5 secaunch a d the Slalom were heavenly
GT3 sounded crazy hooligan

Enjoy
