Carbon Black Pictures
Just spent the better part of the day washing, waxing, conditioning, shining, Rain-X-ing, etc., and I thought I'd post a few more pictures for the hell of it. Nothing really new here, but figured a few more pics couldn't hurt. Gotta say, I'm impressed with how well the CB paint looks after 2.25 years. Looking at it from a distance (i.e. as a casual passerby), it looks as good as the day I bought it. Up close, it still looks great. Sure, a few microabrasions here and there, a couple tiny highway chips, and one or two small sap marks I couldn't get out, but you really have to go looking for them. I'm pretty anal, and I still think it looks pretty damn good.

Can you tell the difference between this and the black sapphire. I'm just debating between the CB, SB and tanzanite blue individual.

Sapphire is a deeper black. In some lights they look identical side by side. Carbon really stands out in low light and certain conditions where it appears purplish/blue. We get a ton of compliments on it - go Carbon if you've got the choice. It's enough black that you'll be very happy if you like black cars. |

I keep thinking how tanzanite blue with black rims and black performance grille would look. If anyone has any pics please post it thanks

Absolutely stunning Bud. It's a labour of love but the results are amazing.

I adore this color, as I think it's an interesting alternative to a black car. I wouldn't say there's much purple to the color, but strong deep blue undertones mixed with the metallic black. The other true blue colors do look really good on this car. I've attached a Tanzanite Blue M6 I saw at the Performance Center when I was there for the M School.

Gorgeous, but a lot of work. I will never have a black car again--nothing prettier when clean, but only remains clean for a few minutes after washing...

Just picked up a 2014 650ix GC a week ago....looks great and yes the blue undertones and metallic flake under certain lighting conditions are amazing. Cloudy day and night time it looks like carbon black/black graphite then light hits it or ray of sunlight and you see hues and shades of blue and metal come out. Usually I am a gray car guy or silver too so this car color is amazing. Almost reminds me of my 1st BMW=steel blue metallic 325xi. Full circle I've come!

I had 5 previous BMWs in Black Sapphire, but for my 6 series decided on Carbon Black and couldn't be happier. Just enough blue to feel like I'm not in yet another Blk. sapphire car. Tons of compliments on it since I got it in July.
