break-in..???

Gents,

Coming from an S65 M3(2), I understood the need for the break-in for that engine. Is it really as important on the S63T? Don't get me wrong, I don't mind at all. But I wonder if it's really as important compared to S65.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

It's very important to avoid excessive oil consumption for the rest of its life.

First 50 miles in particular. You must use plenty of revs, up to 5,500, not too much power though, and use engine breaking as much as possible. Obviously with the engine fully up to temperature first. After the first 50-100 miles take it more easily until the running in service as 1200 miles.
