Increased Battery Discharge

I run a lot of extra stuff in my 2013, a hardwired radar/lasr jammer, a sub/amp, a bluetooth obd2, ipod and iphone/snap. I am getting increased battery discharge every a.m. now. Car has original 95 amp battery.

I had this same issue in my M3, dealer will not cover under warranty due to aftermarket stuff (same items).

Car will be 4 years old in August, so I assume battery is closer to dead. Would a 105 amp battery help/make a diffference.

I drive 22 miles to work am, short lunch some days and 22 back, so I may not be fully recharging.

No clock, starting or setting issues.

might be dead and it should not be original battery, it would have already been replaced once under regular maintenance plan (not warranty) at least mine was...otherwise worth trying a new battery, modern cars are hard on batteries especially with additional accessories.

While I am the second owner I did speak to original dealer and got full service history, no mention of battery being replaced. I also read that if replaced they did go with 105 amp batteries.

Garage List
AFAIK (at least on my '14 F13) the updated service interval for battery replacement is every 10k miles (due to unforeseen drain issues due to running the cooling fans extra long due to turbos on top of the engine, etc..... in the M6). So my dealership replaced my battery with a 105 when I hit 10k miles.

While I blame the amp/sub install for the issue, I am sure it is close to its end anyway.

hey its not the amp and the sub, its the bluetooth in the obd, I have the exact same issue when I leave mine plugged in. It always has power to it and just sits there and drains on the battery. I don't know if you daily yours but mine can sit for 3-5 days at a time

"hey its not the amp and the sub, its the bluetooth in the obd" That is why I have a bluetooth adapter with an on off switch (Carly). Issue started thew day after amp install. Amp light is on when I pop trunk (though that act could trigger it to wake up so, not sure if it always stays on).

Left the trunk open with doors locked and amp stayed on for hours, so that must be the culprit. I am sure the almost four year old 95 amp battery living in Texas and Florida also is an issue.

New battery is $291 plus install.

sounds like the remote turn on for amp is not connected to correct accessory lead, you need to locate a circuit that turns on/off with car. be sure to check with a meter as many systems in the car will actually stay on for a while after you shut off engine/accessories. ask big brian or someone else who did subs where they tapped in.
