Sprint booster

Has anyone bought a sprint booster? The idea sounds great, but wondering if it really works.

I picked up the Pedalbox for it's extra adjustability features. They all work, they remove all the throttle response lag and make the car feel like it's putting down a lot more torque in the lower to mid rpm range without you having to floor the gas pedal every time. For such a cheap and easy to install mod, it's worth it!

Yeah, i came across the pedalbox after I posted. I only have about 100 miles on the car, but I expected more throttle response from the alpina in sport/sport+ mode. I am still breaking it in, so this might be premature, but I feel like a pedalbox will make it feel more fun.

I was driving the x5m this morning to compare, and in full sport mode the x5m just feels more fun. The pedal is more sensitive. It's an odd feeling because it's obvious the x5m isn't accelerating as fast as the alpina. But because of the sensitivity of the pedal, it makes you feel like it is accelerating faster.

I have an email out to pedalbox to see if it would fit a 2016 alpina, but I can't see why it wouldn't.

yes it worked on all my BMW E46, E60, F10
but I have not tried it on the 640i yet.
I'm 50/50 on this item because when I shift it to sport the car on my 640i it dose push a bit with sport gear box so if installed I think it will jerk a lot and not a smooth ride. My E60 and F10 jerked a bit and both were 2.5L engines.

That is why I went with the pedal box. Other products have 2-3 settings while the pedal box has sport & sport+, each setting has +/-3 settings so you actually have 12 different settings plus a valet mode. In my 650i that is modified, I have come to call the Sport+ +3 setting as "Psycho Mode" Hahaha

Because of bad weather, I still only have about 100 miles on the car. Pedalbox is arriving late this week, should I not install it until I have some more break in miles on the car?

My break-in method was get in the car, run it to redline in first gear and let the engine slow it down 3 times. Then drove it like i stole it. BMW's don't need or want soft break-ins, you need to seat those piston rings so the engine doesn't eat oil and lose performance. Get the pedalbox, and put it on, and stop driving the car like miss daisy! Lol

Installed it last night. It makes a world of a difference, I am loving it.

This is how the car should have felt in sport mode originally.

Putting the car in full sport mode and the pedal box in full sport mode is scary. Barely have to push the pedal for the car to just shoot off like a rocket.

So all this does is change the mapping of the pedal?

Yeah, there is not much to it.

Before I would have to press the pedal about half way down before it really engaged, now in full sport mode it will take off while barely pushing the pedal.

It doesn't get to speed any faster, but it takes less effort to get there.

even press halfway there is a lag of about 0.5 to 1 sec before it kicks in.

Not on the 650.. Different animal, the small turbos on that V8 give you an instant feel of power and boost with one of these pedalbox type devices
