Thumbs up AMS turbo upgrade is out!

http://ind-distribution.com/ind/bran...bo-upgrade-kit

Apparently makes 685 whp without the tune on 93 pump, imagine what it will do with BMS piggy back!

A very slow older rwd Mercedes e63 amg did 1/4 in 10.7 secs just by upgrading turbos

I think it's worth a try, anyone else?

By upgrading the turbos I am sure you would need access to change mappings in the ECU to make the new turbos work effectively/efficiently/safely.

I cannot imagine slapping on new (I am guessing bigger) turbos w/o changing the mappings is the smartest thing to do?! Has anyone addressed this part of the equation yet?

OK... So I thought what the hell and picked up the phone and called IND. Yes, the hardware (turbos) are available but without any software there isn't much gain. The DMIs see the extra boost and make changes to the rest of the engine to compensate and "bring the car back down to reality".

I was told IND's shop F10 made 590wrhp with the new turbos (no piggy back) -- this isn't a huge gain.

Yup, even if you throw a BMS piggyback on there to "fool" the DME into thinking it is producing less boost the problem is going to be fueling. The stock DME is not going to be able to keep up with additional fueling requirement. Until that is solved, I wouldn't bother with a turbo upgrade.

Do you think we will ever have a full tune available for our cars?

Absolutely. Needs the correct DME software to make necessary changes for a turbo upgrade.
Not worth a purchase without it.

Can't we use water/meth to compensate on the extra need of fuel issue?

Maybe someone can make a piggy back that taps into the fuel nozzles so we can trick the nozzles into spraying more.
