M6 GC rear spring pad
Hey guys, happy christmas.
Just got my new M6 GC yesterday (UK based) and I noticed this extra yellow spring pad on the rear struts (both sides) - see pic below. It is soft and squidgy and sits on top of the black plastic spring pad. I had notice the rear end looks quite high up. It is not shown on the real.oem diagram HERE Any of you guys got these on your M6s? Is it some sort of shipping piece that needs removing? |

Congrats on your new m6! That is a shipping block that should have been removed during dealer prep!
Look forward to more pics one you get them removed!

Thanks for that guys.
I'll get onto the dealer tomorrow and let you know how it goes. I can't see the front spring pad so I'm not sure if there's one in there too. A couple of pics of the car.... |

Hmmm...this may be the lower pad itself, it is lighter so must have been yellow when I got the car...but importantly it has the part no on it !....

Are those winter tyres I can see? Funny this, a global forum and you're in Wolverhampton, I'm just west of Stafford 20 minutes away from you... |

Cool! Small World - I am still to meet another M6 owner in person. I work in Telford so we are even closer.
Better pics now I hope showing the part no on what I believe is your equivalent yellow pad on passenger side pic, with the drivers side pad having its part no not visible as its round the other side I assume… I’m intrigued as if you are right then I have had shipping pads in since new! |

Thanks again.
I'm thinking if yours has it too then it's more likely a correctly fitted part, just seemed odd being such a bold colour. I'll query it with a dealer and see what they say. |
