Snow beast, my 650gc
Long story short,
Just wanna report to you guys, My 650gc went through around 15cm snow without any problem today. What a snow beast, sexy and practical machine. Saw two m5s 3 c63s and one 911s stuck in the snow. I would like to say during this kind of weather, I will not think about m6gc anymore. (Only in this kind of weather.) BTW, I even found the 650gc handles far better than my old x6 in snow. Not sure why... when I drove my old x6 went through last year's snow storm, the traction flashed like crazy... What can a man want more? Our 6/6gc is sexy, powerful, practical, etc,. All I can say is just Driving 650gc as dd is just kind of sheer pleasure in all seasons. It is an real ultimate driving machine.

Good to hear. My X6 is doing terrible this winter, but it is because the tires have 27K on them (not that it ever did great with those tires). I'm guessing the 19s on the 650 are just about perfect (even though I think I will put some snows on it if I go the GC route).

Its funny, the main reason I want to move away from the X6 is that I don't like the ride height (due to the trade off in handling). But man, with the winter we have been having in Chicago, I am going to miss being up and out of this "crap".
I personally think I need a 10 car garage (and a lot more money).

Just it is my DD, as sometimes I take it to roadtrip. Just I feel it is more comfortable to sit in the x6 for roadtrip than the 650gc. |

See, that's where I disagree. The X6M has the same adaptive drive my 50i has and no matter what, you can't break the laws of physics. It is still a truck -an incredible handling truck, but still a truck (a 5,200lb truck that sits a lot higher than a car). While i totally agree that I LOVE taking the X6 on road trips and well, it has been kick butt this winter... it drives me nuts (literally) during the summer. I thought getting a "fun" car (my 1M) would solve the issue, alas, it spends too much time in the garage to be enjoyed properly (and when it is outside the garage I'm always flipping out )

There is nothing in this world can break the law of physics. Even the suv with m letter. As for me, after I owned one MB one e92 335, one x6 and now the 650gc. I would say two cars are must need for a enthusist like us. For me, I would like to switch my 650gc maybe late this year or early next year for a LCI Porsche cayenne GTS, and buy a m4 or even a 911 s/gt3 (depends on my financial situation) for weekend fun car. P cars really grows on me nowadays, after I drove my friend's panamera gts and 13 cayenne gts. If I only can have one car, I would pick 650gc or cayenne gts. So far, i am still in deep love with my Grancoupe. |

I have just a regular GC w/o X drive, and it has been a great everyday car. It won't see any snow any day soon. I love skiing, so I prefer a dedicated hauler for that purpose with lots of space and decent handling. I hate valet and street parking, so I got another just for that. M4 would be a wonderful track car, but I want to see Alfa 4C in person before making a decision on track toy. However, the new Mini JCW is also quite interesting.

My new 640i Gran Coupe M Sport with 20" wheels performs extremely poorly in snow. Its my first car with summer performance tires and they clearly are not even suitable for even the little snow we receive in Dallas (I had to get pushed up a hill yesterday by my neighbors).

I used to have an X6, but I too made the switch over to the GC.
The GC is truly a blast to drive, but my experience seems to be the opposite compared to some of the other forum members that made the switch from the X6 to the 6 series. I had a couple of close calls with my 650i GC while driving during the rough weather conditions we are having this winter. Nothing too serious, but I had two incidents where my GC didn't come to a complete stop when I needed it to. I don't think its really the car, it is probably more the tires I'm running. I NEVER had that problem with the X6. Mine was a 35i, and she would just climb over the snow, and would still stop when I wanted her to. Again, I think it is more the difference in tires ( I hope ) vs the actual car. Either way, I am definitely more cautious in snowy/icy conditions in my current car, when I never had my confidence shaken when I was driving the X6.

Currently, I am running the stock 20 inch ///M sport wheels with the run flats, and my GC had trouble stopping a couple times. It would seem those tires are NOT designed to handle slippery road conditions. No offense... I'm just glad it wasn't just me! lol. Thanks for posting your experience. Please be careful out there!

You do not need to think about it anymore. You got the perfect GC, comparing with GC, the interior of it is just dated.
Maybe you gonna think about it again once next generation comes out.
