Here's one at my dealer, as I was placing my order for an ED M3. The color has grown on me. I apologize for the crappy iPhone pics.

Agreed that the color definitely does grow on people.

At first it's very "in your face!"...then it subtly changes to ...wow I like it.

I really like (you can read love) AY but on M4 not on M6. I mean M6 is too big for this color IMO

Behold some serious competition!

How did they knock nearly a half a second off 0-60? We all know it isn't hp... What is different with the traction to get it to grip from a dig?

Agree!

You can get a new 991 Turbo S for this price. Or a McLaren 570 if you don't need the back seat or get an AM if you wanna be like James Bond.

Given the competition, nobody would ever buy this car unless they just wanted a 1/100 car. But the moment it's titled it's going be worth $100k maybe.

Stevens Creek BMW in Santa Clara, CA has one AY. When I was there last weekend, I first thought it was a special order M6 since I'm not used to seeing AY on M6. However, when I read the window sticker, I was blown away by the price of that thing Competition Edition costs $51K... That M6 was probably one of the most expensive cars I ever sat in

They just corrected the underrate numbers!
The actual 0-60 of stock non CP M6 is 3.7 second but is reported 4.1 second on BMW website. The real world says the truth... Motor Trend, Car and Driver and many other magazines reported 3.7 second for both non CP and CP (575 hp one). For this new one probably 0.1 second faster but still 3.8 second is faster than 4.1 second however all of those numbers are incorrect.

I never beat 4.2 when it was stock or with the Dinan. I'm no pro driver but my car never hooked. I ran with anything from 45-150 though.

I still don't understand how they can charge that much for a car and NOT provide an individual number plate. That's just lazy IMO.

More likely, they don't want to over/under value any specific number, like the first or the last produced... this way they can make everyone feel "special" by having "1/100".
