The Competition Package makes the exaust louder?

Is this true? I wasn't interested in the comp package originally but if true I will be considering it.

AFAIK CP has different muffler and yes it's a bit louder, but if you want to get it just because of sound I believe you have better options like Akra exhaust! To me the main advantage of CP (that I missed since it was not available at the time I got my car) is the handling and a bit more power...

Yes The exhaust note is deeper and more explosive in downshifts
I have compared my car with a regular exhaust and definitely sounds nicer

No baffles in the muffler of the CP exhaust so it's a little louder than the stock. I still found it to be too quite so upgraded to Akrapovic anyways.

I have wired open the exhaust valves, sounds great on My M6 GC CP.

IMHO the CP is an expensive correction to the problems the car should not have had in the first place and response to focus groups, opinion polls, etc. The numbers are not significantly better. The improvements include electronic steering mod, minimal HP increase, louder exhaust and suspension enhancements should have been ironed out pre launch. I feel BMW found a way to extract more money out of us cult like followers. A greedy way to handle a correction not a quality upgrade, IMHO.
