New 6 coupe owner here it is!!!
About 6 weeks ago I traded in my 2013 X6 3.5 which I had for 2.5 years and jumped into a 2014 650 coupe.
Major differences and loving it. The only thing I really liked and will miss about the X6 was the massive wide aggressive tires on the sport package I had and the trunk space. The 2 vehicles are so different in many ways even the quality the 6 cars feel like they are in a whole other class and shouldnt even share the badge number 6. maybe it's the american craftsmanship where the x's are all assembled here, who knows.. anyhow, she's m sport on sport fully loaded. only mod i did was tinted her windows and I will most likely get a black grill (not sure why the M sport doesnt include that, it does in other series) and possibly that carbon fiber m spoiler. the color's carbon black(dark blue) and vermillion red interior PS; the ski bag compartment in the rear for passengers is stupid imo... should have been an armrest!!! Congrats! Seems we have very similar taste, I just picked up a nearly identical '14 650i GC (have the black interior instead). I did purchase the black kidney's and love them - attached a pic so you can see.
When the LED's are on it looks very nice. I also have owned X6's in the past. At the moment, we still have a '13 X6 xDrive50 with the M Sport Package. I don't agree with your comment regarding build quality. While the interior on the 650i is in a class of it's own (full leather and alcantra), the X6 is very well built. I'm always torn which to take to the gym in the morning as I love driving each equally. The X6 does look very aggressive in stance with the 315's on back, but the 650i sits with a low/wide stance that looks as if it is prepared to pounce. Valet's love to park both out front we receive compliments often. Steering on the X6 is much heavier (even heavier than the 650i in Sport +...which is the mode I leave it in 90% of the time). The 650i seems to be a bit harsher ride (Likely the fact I'm in "Sport +"!), I believe it is likely due to the very low profile tires as compared to the X6, although those are also quite low profile. The exhaust on the X6 is much more aggressive on start up, really sounds aggressive. Upon driving, the 650i has a much better tone as there is a "raspiness" when you let off the accelerator and on shifting that is lacking on the X6. I am noticing that as I get more miles on the 650i (have 1,150 on it today), the exhaust is sounding even better and better. I saw another post indicating after 2,000 miles you can really hear a difference from when you first purchase it. I am not clear why this would be the case, but can say it seems to be true. Once you are used to the larger displays on the new BMW's, it is hard going back to the "old" variant as the screen seems small - even though it is likely still one of the largest out there. Congrats again on the new ride - eager to see pics if you make any more upgrades. |

Pretty car. I have almost 420 miles on mine; waited for months, Coupe, everything but night vision and adaptive steering.
As long as we are thinking about what's in the MSport package, I vote for painted calipers...they'd look perfect with the 20" wheels.

X6 to 6-series
Wow, there are a lot of people who have gone from an X6 to the 6-series. I guess you could say we like unique cars! (except that the X6 is actually a truck).
x6Hawkeye - totally agree about the exhaust sound and also agree that it is getting even nicer with more miles (I think I'm at about 1,600).

Awesome, I love the Carbon Black as well.
I've had my '15 for almost 2 months now and still haven't hit 1000 miles.

I bought a '14 just recently as I rec'd a great deal. Curious if you know what changed from '14 to '15? (For instance, I know they added the LCD dash from '13 to '14). |

I think the current 6 design is awesome inside and out, and its performance still has that "wow" feeling... but I belive my next car will be an X6 once again...

Does make me sad that my $84K X6 50i is still sitting on the dealer lot, certified with 27K on the clock and they can't get $51K for it.

thanks everyone, i'm really happy with it!!
As for '14/'15 I believe the only change is touch idrive? i think... other than that I might've read some M sport only features are now standard on all 6 series as included features. |

Sorry, been busy with work and all... Just turned 1000 miles today!
In regards to the changes from '14 - '15... My '14 was an early March '13 build so I didn't even get the updated LCD dash, I had the standard dash which was still awesome, but then to see the LCD come out afterwards was like Change wise, everything is pretty much the same from '14 - '15, with some minor changes that as far as I've seen so far can all be retrofitted to the '14 with ease. - Sport displays are now standard - Last start/stop setting is remembered when starting the car - A/C settings are all remembered from how you had them when you turned the car off. - Entertainment & Phone are now standard in HUD I dunno, I'm probably forgetting something, but overall, nothing at all major and nothing that can't be coded on a '14 to replicate a '15. Deal wise, if you can find something you like and it's what you want, go for it! The deals are fantastic on the 2014's and your getting the exact same car. My 2015: This one was my 2014 that I had and sold last year (don't ask)...
