Agree! Congrats to the best dealer in the Buckeye state! Aatir also helped me with my 2016 M4 build and I can't thank him enough for a stress free and ENJOYABLE experience! You will not go wrong with this place. All around good people! Thanks Aatir!

I don't think surveys play much of a role in this award

I was told the main thing dealers are judged on is loyalty now - did you return to that BMW dealer to buy another car? Did you get your car serviced there or go somewhere else.

I almost bought a car (ok, no wasn't close cause the sales process was such a joke) from a BMW dealer here in the burbs of Chicago - and instead picked one up down in St. Louis (where I have bought my last 5 cars). My dealer in St. Louis (Autohaus) said that if I had bought at the other dealer, it would have gone against him - and, the fact that I get my car serviced up here does go against him.

Thoughts here?

Not anymore Brakes (and other wear parts like clutch and the all important wiper blades) were removed starting in 2017

Not a surprise. I've had some horrific experiences up here.
Your situation is actually a double edged sword for the dealer. You obtain good marks for loyalty, but negative marks for selling out of market. In your situation, it didn't help or hurt them. (We'd do the same thing in their situation since they negate each other).

'Kool Aid' criteria that the 35 COE have been drinking the past year from Woodcliff Lake:

•Annual Volume Target Achievement
•Market Share Premium
•Lead Conversion
•Dealer Sales Loyalty
•Dealer Effectiveness
•Sales Premium Score
•Used Volume
•CPO Premium Score
•Total Parts Purchase
•Accessories Purchase
•Tires Purchase
•Service Premium Score
•Service Market Achievement Score
•Service Effectiveness

These all flow into what is called a BSC Index.

-Lead Conversion is over a 6 month rolling average
-Dealer Effectiveness is over a 12 month rolling average
-Service Effectiveness is over a 15 month rolling average

IMO Encinitas sucks. Always did and always will
Had the worst sales experience of my life there purchasing a 2017 X5D about a month ago. Horrific is an understatement.

On the flip side I'm glad Center and South Bay made the list, have purchased a few cars from each and they have always taken care of business.

IL never has any dealerships on this list. Sad for such a large market and lots of dealerships to never be in top 35.

But it makes sense, horrible to deal with, non stop lies, the larger they are the worse.

SD BMW employees are terrible. They're judgmental and no one offers to help you with any service. You have to practically pry it out of them and write a 10 page letter to convince them that you're interested in a car and want to test drive and possibly buy it . Overall

Hendrick in Charlotte wasn't on the list. First year in 13....

Last year's new car sales dipped. Next year we'll be back!

I'll put in a plug for my local dealership - Burdick BMW in Syracuse (Cicero) NY. They didn't make this list, but likely d/t volume (and they don't push the surveys like others describe here). For me they have been first rate throughout; pressure-free and mostly BS-free sales, and great service.

It's pretty difficult to get those awards two years in a row. There are so many dealers in this area that pursuing those awards year after year is a challenge. There's BMW Fairfax, BMW Alexandria, BMW Silver Spring, BMW Sterling, BMW Northwest, BMW Catonsville, BMW Annapolis, Passport BMW, BMW Rockville. That's what, 9 different BMW dealers in a 50ish mile radius that people can cross shop.

The Center of Excellence Award is based on sales numbers, Customer-Satisfaction with sales/service, how many "Encore" appointments the BMW Geniuses do and so many other factors. If you have a competitive year and people are cross-shopping every single dealership in the DMV it's difficult to get the numbers up to where they need to be even be considered. Plus, 2017 was a rough year politically speaking and in the heart of USA politics that leaves more people unhappy and more likely to leave a negative review.

There's plenty more that goes into it, but that's the generic info.

You guys realize the list is alphabetical, right? #24, #5, doesn’t matter, it’s not a ranking.

Customer service sucks in the PNW and the customers except it so it's no surprise that none of the PNW dealers made it... Bless their little hearts!

BMW of Silver Spring service has been bad. And is probably still bad.

Go in for popping noise up front -> 4 wheels bent, replace $3000, Transfer case bad, $5000.

Yea okay. They didn't look so happy about stating bad TC once I told them its under CPO.

thanks for this. I don't see these ratings as "Kool-Aid". You ultimately have to judge your franchises based on something, and sales and customer servicer certainly makes sense.

Can you fudge some of it? Sure. Can you fudge all of it? Absolutely not, especially given the full set of criteria you posted.
