akra drone myth

I've had turner muffler deletes, to me the sound was amazing, really aggressive on downshifts, to some (my gf) it was a little too loud so I decided to switch to akra, and it does have a beautiful tone to it, it's made absolutely beautifully and even though it may not be as loud as turner, with the downpipe it's enough, sounds is great however during the highway cruise with ctless downpipe both exhausts have the same noise in a cabin, not the most pleasant noise and switching to a much more expensive akra didn't change a thing, idk how other exhaust drone probably meisteshaft is really bad, but turner and akra both with dp's cabin noise is the same, there's definitely always humming noise, just sharing my own experience who thinks it's otherwise.

It must be the down pipes because I can tell you my Akra system has Zero drone on the highway with stock cats. I want to hear more turbo spool and I am considering down pipes now but I do not what drone or throw codes.

You may want to look into having your active sound coded off. When cruising the active sound does make a humming sound, and it may help or solve your issue for very cheap or free if you or a friend can code.

Dude ... I have absolutely no Drone and I have SS catless Downpipes with the akra evo full titanium setup ...

As I am a Dentists and hear high pitch noises all day, any drone kills my ears ... I have no Drone what-so ever with my set up and Princess only goes out if the weather is good and she is topless (excibitionist tramp ) ... I drive 28 Km each way to and from work and half of that is highway doing 110 km/h ...

Perhaps it may be the set up with downpipes ... I am running SuperSprint Catless ... what are you running?

Also, are you a hard top?

Hoping to be of assistance

surprisingly ... CEL is only occasionally on.

I'd say about 80% of the time the CEL is off ... running Shell 91 V-power here in Canada

if worried, you could always to the high performance catted downpipes ...

Could Tip placement be an issue perhaps ... ie how far out or in they sit could effect the note/sound quality

Seconded about making sure you disable active sound! With non-standard exhaust, it makes a "drone".

I guess I was under the impression when the light is on it affects how the computer maps the fuel???? If its just a flipping light on the dashboard its no big deal

Yeapo ... it is an emissions issue ... most of the time I do not see it ... even when it is occasionally on I do not see an issue with performance or drivability.
Hope this helps!
