Like a kid waiting for Xmas... 2 days till my new M6 GC!

Been a while since I've posted on the forums. I've been absolutely loving my 640d Gran Coupe (fairwell pic attached) for the last 2 years and sad to see it go back in a few weeks as I come to the end of my lease.

I've been looking for a replacement for the last 3-4 months and considered the Panamera 4 GTS, RS7 and M6. After having extensively researched all the options and driven examples of each, I settled overall on the M6. The Porsche interior IMO is not on the same level of the BMW and whilst it drives well, that generation Panamera looks dated now. The RS7 is a ballistic missile and untouchable in damp conditions, but again the boring interior and slightly numb driving feel meant there was only one obvious choice!

After searching up and down the country for the last 3 months, I soon realised how much of a unicorn the M6 GC is. There is literally only a dozen LCI cars for sale in the UK and finding one in the right colour with good spec has been the bane of my wife.

After deposits down on 2 different M6, both which turned out to be lemons (one had run in service at 8k and Sixt car rental as the previous owner, the other had shoddy paintwork repairs and KDS alignment way off), I finally found "the car".

Here's the specs:

Model******** 6E92** F06 M6 Gran Coupe S63 4.4i LCI
Colour******* *B51*** San Marino Blue********** Metallic
Upholstery*** X3A9** Silverstone Full Merino Leather
Maint Pack*** Active from 28/05/2015 to 27/05/2020
Option******* 3AG*** Reversing Assist camera
Option******* 322*** *Comfort Access
Option******* 323*** *Soft-close doors
Option******* 464*** *Through-loading ski bag
Option******* 496*** *Seat heating. rear
Option******* 5DL*** *Surround-view camera
Option******* 6AR** **Internet
Option******* 6FV*** *Online Entertainment
Option******* 6F2*** *B&O Advanced audio system
Option******* 6UK ***Night Vision with pedestrian recognition
Option******* 761*** *Sun protection glass
Option******* 8TH*** Speed limit display

I managed to hustle the dealer to throw in 12 months road tax (£520), M Performance carbon mirror caps, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler with the deal! He is also doing a full firmware update on engine, chassis, gearbox and iDrive, so it's ready for coding when it lands.

Twiddling my thumbs online for mods....

Mod list (so far):
M6 Logo door projector lights (purchased)
M performance pedals and foot rest (purchased)
Carbon Fibre steering wheel centre trim
Carbon Fibre front Splitter (not sure which one I want yet)
Black Kidney Grille (No dealer option for cars with Night Vision)
Carbon Fibre Exhaust Tips (m performance replicas)

Any other suggestions or comments are welcomed.

nice, congrats on the ride! I probably did .05 % of the research you seem to have done when i got mine, but then again, i've always been a M6 fan.

You're right about the competitors, audi, fast but boring and dynamically inferior, panamera looks horrible, although the newer gen is better looking/performing. I think its a heavier car than the m6 though.

Enjoy!
