N63TU Engine problem so far?

Wanted to ask fellow members here on the reliability of the N63TU engine. Anyone here have issues or had issues with this emgine? Thanks. Contemplating on getting the V8 as opposed to the V6 ???

Only issues I've had with the engine are the melting and cracking of vacuum lines on top of the turbos under the plastic cover. They were replaced and I think the same issue has occurred again. I get a rough idle on cold start only for a minute or so and then everything works right. It keeps getting worse as the lines fail and crack under the heat generated by the turbos sitting up on top in between the V. A couple of braided hoses would fix that right up if BMW could get their heads out of their asses, otherwise it has been a flawless drive train for the last 2 years and I drive it hard.

im at 7800 miles right now, ive only had to add 2-3 quarts of oil and for some reason my tpms monitor readings from the screen are giving me readings opposite of what it shows on the screen. so if the screen shows right front or rear tire is low, its actually the left side of the car. ive tried switching the tpms the other side thinking it would solve it, even reset it with a bmw computer and it still does the same thing.

Same issue with cracked lines, we're replaced with rubber lines which look like they will last longer. Also have to add a quart of oil roughly every 4k miles. Just small things overall no issues.

At 29K got the CEL and it was found to be my crankcase vent hoses leaking unmetered air into intake system, fault code 118001. Dealer installed new Bi-Vent pipe and Connecting line.

Car has been outstanding since day one, personally for me, in this larger GT car having the V8TT over the 6 cylinder is a deal breaker.

Kind of annoying but not a big deal in the long run I would assume I don't think I would like the car with the turbo 6, gladly will add as much oil as she wants instead

+1

Same here. A quart every 5K miles is not a problem, actually gives me something to do.

So I just picked up my 2013 BMW CPO 650i Gran Coupe and went on a 1100 mile road trip. Drive Train malfunction triggered twice during the trip after applying moderate to medium-heavy throttle while in cruise control for the majority of the trip.

Have Lexus cars and expected BMW not to be as reliable but I never expected to see a BMW service advisor right off the bat. What an intro to BMW, LOL.

BMW just diagnosed my problem as due to one faulty MAF and two fuel injectors which they will replace under warranty. Knowing they identified the problem and are correcting it (w/ brand new 428 as a loaner) placates my disappointment of having a problem with the car right off the bat.

Update. Right after I came in April for repair, came back in a week later for replacement of high pressure fuel pump, and vent tubing that was leaking and causing unmetered air to make engine run lean . Since then, car has been running like a Champ until now 3,200 miles later
