Newbie, looking for the used 650i x-drive with Adaptive Drive
Newbie, looking for the used 650i x-drive with Adaptive Drive.
I am on a market for used 650i x-drive with Adaptive Drive $2500 option. Is it any way I can distinctively say that car has Adaptive Drive option or not? In central console I see buttons “sport” and “comfort”. So, how to be sure car has Adaptive drive – only by VIN #? Diller doesn’t know. Thanks for advice. |

Take it for a test drive and toggle between the modes from 'Eco Pro', 'Comfort+', 'Comfort', and 'Sport', you'll soon feel the difference.
Surprised the dealer doesn't know - is it an official BMW dealership? You can also enter the last 7 digits of your VIN in the BMW decoder here: https://www.bmwdecoder.com That'll tell you exactly what the car has. |

Thank you very much for respond. So, my understanding all cars have 'Eco Pro', 'Comfort+', 'Comfort', 'Sport', Sport+. The only difference in the driving experience? Is it any visual futures/ buttons or on screen can tell that car has ADAPTIVE DRIVE? From VIN# it has (EDC) Electronic dumper control S223A but it doesn't say ADAPTIVE DRIVE. Not all cars have Comfort+, any car with the variable dampers or adaptive drive options will have it. A car with the non active versions will have everything but Comfort+.
The difficultly comes with knowing whether you have the variable dampers or adaptive (the latter being far more rare at least in the UK market) although from what I have read the steering dynamics make fairly obvious if it has got it. Use a VIN decoder as said above is probably your best bet to know exactly what it has got and in this case has not. |

Very impressive during high speed cornering as it dramatically reduces body roll and improves steering response. |
