Exclamation I drive controller not working

I tried coding different color ambient lighting 2014 640 GC bc I was tired of just seeing the dim boring old orange. I was using Bimmercode with my veepeek obd 𝟸 scanner. The system reset as it should and worked but 10 seconds later I drive froze then controller stopped working it doesn’t even light up anymore.

It unfroze and Everything else works perfectly fine my blue tooth works voice command works radio even still works when I turn on car.

But I cannot use controller it’s completely not responding

Does anyone know what may have happened weather it’s a fuse that’s blown or was due to coding and may have did something wrong or just coincidentally controller just failed and time to replace ?

Help!!

Where did you find coding to change the color of the ambient lighting in an f06?

The ambient lighting in the f06/f12/f13 is single color...you can't change the color unless you change other components that will give you multiple color selection. You can adjust the brightness...but the ambient lighting is SUBTLE in the f06...you can't change the original ambient lighting to look like a night club lounge...its just a simple dim red lighting...that really stands out when you are in a dark location without much street lighting.

BTW, just checked and there are no ambient light coding parameters to change the color for the f06/f12/f13...the only ambient light coding is for brightness...and again, its still not going to get much brighter than what it came from the factory with:

Ah....thanks for the additional details. Unfortunately I don't have anything on why your controller stopped working.

I think you had another thread that asked for the fuse number that is connected to the iDrive controller...I believe that answer was fuse 29.

The lower fuse numbers are probably in the front/glovebox area. There should be a laminated fuse index/diagram in your rear fuse box that will give its exact location. Just open the cover on the right side of the trunk.

The fuse index chart shows multiple things:
  • both front and rear fuse boxes with fuse numbers & locations
  • the amperage of each fuse
  • the icon or symbol showing what fuse number(s) relate to it

@qsilver7 I was able to get the lights coded and working now thankfully. So originally I installed the wiring wrong in the door connectors which caused the blown fuse I’m assuming .

I rearranged the wiring the correct way, male to female then boom light show was just so thankful u assisted me there
