Upgrade rear bumper

One day upon returning to my car I found the rear bumper damaged. As it will have to be replaced, I should probably upgrade it from M-sport to M. My research tells it could be just the bumper cover and exhaust tips that need to be replaced - maybe also the carrier as the hit had been substantial.

My car looks stock, but when looking closer, there are several subtle modifications done all around the car, so I don't know if it really is M-sport bumpers from factory. If not, upgrading to M would be bigger project and possibly too expensive.

Can someone identify if it has true M-sport bumper or aftermarket cover?

You don't say what car that is besides "6". It's also not a very good pic because MSport bumpers have a shiny gray lower valance, but it's too hard to to tell. But to me it looks like a standard 640 bumper, and not MSport. It's not a 650 bumper.

It is a 640, gasoline. Hopefully these pictures will clarify it.

Unfortunately, your rear bumper is the regular bumper. You can tell by the location of the reflectors in the rear bumper...as well as the shape where the rear license plate is located....and the lower piece that goes around the exhaust pipes

This is what the OP has. The regular non-sport rear bumper reflectors are lower down toward the exhaust and are lined up with the top of the rear license plate panel:

Below is the M bumper. The M-aerodynamic bumper reflectors are above the crease in the bumper...closer to the rear tail lights...and inline with the bottom of the trunk. And the shape of the rear license plate panel is different as well as the lower bumper piece that goes around the exhaust pipes:

OK, the difference is clear as you present them side by side.

What about the front? It looks like an M-sport, but is obviously a retrofit.

Yes, your front end has the M aerodynamic front bumper. And I should clarify that they’re are the regular bumpers, the M aerodynamic bumpers, then the M bumpers found on the M6. The f12/f13/f06 has 3 different types of bumpers.
