New M6 Owner

Hello everyone ,

Recently sold my E60 M5 and just picked up a 14' F13 M6.
Alpine white/black fully loaded with comp package.

any suggestions on what I can do right away as for mods?
Coming from the V10 with Miesterschaft Exhaust , the M exhaust it comes
with is not that loud has anybody deleted the resonators ? or just go aftermarket completely?

few pics below thanks , Ron.

iI have been researching myself ! This forum is loaded with all kinds of options for the exhaust mods from inexpensive to very expensive from loud to slightly above stock depending on your preference and price point, some examples:
turner muffler delete-$1000-$1200
catless downpipes-$1500-$2000
eisenmann or Meisterschaft $3000-$6000 depending on partial or full
akropovic $7000-$8000 probably most expensive, but seems to be fan favorite!

look around on here and you will find sound clips and videos of each, congrats on car!

The best mods I did were the M Performance Exhaust with carbon tips and black kidney grilles. Both change the look of the car, especially on Alpine White. The exhaust is audible entertainment without being obnoxious.

CONGRATS BUDDY!!!!

Yes I agree ... I came from a 2007 M6 Cab, V10 with K&N Intakes and Eisenmann sport cat back ... the Twin Turbo on the new Gen is very emasculating for sound!!!

I did the Akra and the super sport catless down pipes, and love it, it is intoxicating with the turbo spool ... however still miss the V10 SCREAM!!!

Welcome to the addiction and congrats!!!

Congrats! Just picked mine up about 3 weeks ago. Coming from a Full bolt on 2014 550xi. Car is great! Extreme Torque makes power hard to put down. I just did the stage 1 JB from BMS and wow!!

Also I'm in same boat with you. Looking for some increase in sound just slightly! I have a set of Meistershaft mufflers (axle back) just sitting in my garage and debating if I should install or sell and just do resonator delete.

I somewhat enjoy the decent quiet sound especially after have a full Catless setup prior lol

A lot of members have gone the Turner Muffler Delete Route

That set up really opens up the car... Slight drone in 7th gear at 2800 RPMS.

Here's a video:

A nice cat back solution is RPI or Meisterschaft:

If you want LOUD then the RPI GTM w/downpipe is what you're looking for... Easily the loudest set up on the market. No drone.

How does the Meisterschaft compare with BMW performance in terms of sound?

The BMW Performance is made by Akrapovic, IMO.... The M Performance or the Akrapovic is one of the best set ups when paired with downpipes. Perfect amount of sound with crazy turbo noises!

Meisterschaft is very good too, but the quality of sound doesn't compare to Akra/BMW
