I agree it looks amazing. I also agree with a few that I like pretty much everything there is about the E63.

Probably my favorite design aspect of the E63 650i.

I agree, this is probably a mule for drivetrain or a very early mule without a completed hard-top mechanism...
This is a hardtop with cloth glued on - just like when they tested early E92's.

Look at that rear window - no way that is a soft-top. They've blacked out part of the window to give the allusion that it is a tiny window.

Tiny window normally = soft-top.

it is a hardtop vert

look a the lines of the trunk. like the 3 series hardtop vert, they extend all the way PAST the rear windshield, so it can open backwards and fit the roof.

the fabric is there just as camo and to confuse us, and its proving successful.

I like the Bangle butt too...

On the debate hardtop vs softtop... The rear window does not look like it is integrated in the roof, and the trunk is not one big element but two elements, which supports the theory that it will be a soft top (a hard top needs the whole trunk to open reverse, while a soft top can do with just a part, like in the current model). However, the fact that these first spy shots already show a 'vert, support the theory there will only be one model: a coupe/convertible, where - like the new Z4 - two models will be replaced by one model that can do both functions.

I could never seem to get my mind around that butt, out of all the butts in the world why did they have to choose that one. Was it the last straw in the hat or something.

I had a M6 on order but canceled it and went M3 instead, nice butt.

No it's an all new redesign.

LCI = Facelift = Refresh

lol yeah man, the refresh was in '08. they changed the front and rear bumpers (and matched up the rear reflectors with the lines of the taillights), flared the rockers a little more, added LED turn signals, changed the position of the third brakelight, enhanced the curvature on the trunk, added MUCH better wheels, and added shadowline trim. oh, and the interior is much better too.

the first three pics are pre-facelift, the last two are facelifted models.
