"Twitchy" Rear End?

Lately, I've noticed somewhat of a twitchy feeling coming from the rear when hitting a mild bump or road imperfection on the freeway/at-speed. It's not bouncy so much, just...twitchy? Though not as extreme, the feeling is exactly like when I needed to replace my upper control arm bushings on an old e36 m3 I used to own. I'm assuming it's something comparable, bushings needing replacing. Has anyone experienced (and fixed) anything similar? The car has 67k on it if that helps at all.

Same.. for me it’s because my wheel bearing & hub need replacing. Bolts broke inside and wheel seems a bit loose

Check all the rear subframe suspension bushings and check the shocks as well.

interesting. i'll finally have a little time to jack the car up this weekend, i'll check the wheels themselves to see if they're loose at all.

thanks, i'll definitely get the car in the air and check at some point this weekend.

i guess i'd asked more to see if it were a common thing like what i'd experienced with my e36 m3.

The M6 has less rubber bushings than the E36. Subframe to body is a hard mount, so the suspension (arms) bushings are the likely cause of a loose feel in the rear end. Week or leaking shocks can also give a loose feel. Check the shocks for leaks along the rod seal.
