Issues tethering BMW Car Hotspot LTE to use in-dash browser
I recently got my 2014 F06 with M-Sports package. I also invested in the BMW Car Hotspot LTE. While I can connect other devices like my iPhone and laptop to the hotspot, I am unable to tether a data connection with the car's in-dash browser. To be clear, I can always tether a data connection with the iPhone.
Will appreciate good advice. |

I thought that the BMW hotspot device basically enabled you to use the cars 3G (or whatever) internet connection with other devices. If so, then you can't tether the cars in dash browser to itself!
Maybe I'm not understanding what you're trying to do. |

Thanks for replying RichardP. What the dealership told me was that I could use the in-dash browser via BMW Car Hotspot LTE instead of a tethered connection with my iPhone over Bluetooth.
Under connections, I can only see Bluetooth. I know there should be an option for Wifi but its missing in my case. My car has S614 (Internet, preparations) and I am able to use a Bluetooth tethered connection with my iPhone to use the in-dash browser. Is this a coding issue? (to be clear, I haven't had my car coded since I got it a month back). |
