For You Bass Freaks // JL Audio 12" W6 // Install Pics

Let me preface this by saying I have never been a "bass freak" but I do enjoy EDM music (electronic/house) and I wanted a little more "oooomphhh" to the sound in my car.

I didn't want the enclosure to be gaudy or blingy nor did I want it to look like I threw a subwoofer box in the back of my trunk.

So I worked with the local stereo shop to build a classy enclosure that matches the OEM look of the trunk with just a tad bit of "custom-ness". I think they did a really good job on it and wanted to share the pics.

Btw... I have catless downpipes and Eisenmann midpipes being installed today (Eisenmann Race mufflers already in place) so I will definitely be "that guy" with the annoying loud car from every angle.

Two JL Audio 12" W6 subs w/ JL Audio 1200/1 HD Amp

Very nice touch. Did you have to do any trunk work to get the sound to transfer through. BMW trunks are sealed extremely tight for road noise. I am picking up my M6 GC on Monday. I plan on transferring my current set up. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't do anything to modify the trunk. I know Hunter on here ported the box through the center of the two seats which sounds like a pretty good idea. My box is sealed and you can definitely feel the low end bass. I have a knob right to my drivers seat which lowers/raises the bass and more often than not the bass is so strong that it sounds better turned down a bit.

It was money well spent because the stock system just doesn't have much low end at all. I listen to all types of music and it sounds amazing now.
