Yes , but tuning is required . You are making the engine breath better , allowing gases to escape quicker , so turbos function better . You also increase boost when you do this .

In would not put down pipes on a car without addressing the tune.

....and I assume that it isn't enough to just buy the newest Dinan stage 1, when it comes out? In other words, the tuning needs to be custom to my system?

YES, and the last thing you want is the car running lean, with the stock pipes it starts and runs on the rich side, I would assume those pipes make it run considerably leaner.
This of course risks the engine going POP, if it does not automatically compensate for extra air.

I've been running these race catted downpipes for a while now and no problems. If you just put the downpipes on you def won't gain that much power. A proper tune like stated above will definitely maximize the performance you gain from this mod.

Does this present any issues with warranty or any error codes on the car? What would be the potential drawbacks of such a system?

I have race catted so I don't get any codes... as far as warranty it's up to the dealer if they are Dicks or not but mine and some others don't care much for DP's. I love the way my Akra sounds with DP'S. It's the only reason I wouldn't want to remove them.

You do any tuning after installing the DPs or was it just the BMS?
