Console Trim Scratches

Thot I'd post this here as well in case anybody has console scratches to deal with. Can anyone concur that the Fine Oak Trim is in fact, real wood?? Can't see BMW hand forming all those trim pieces out of real wood??

Let us know if there are any issues. And a big yes again........ my scratches are gone and finish left was as per the factory gloss hi polished!! No harm done!!

It is in fact real wood, but it's buried under about "100" layers of PU clear coat. Any ultra fine polish will work. Plastic polish is good because is it ultra fine. It's the coating that is scratched, not the wood. I prefer matte finished wood because it looks more "real".

These trim pieces are not carved from solid wood, but rather are a thin layer of wood formed and laminated to an injection molded substrate - then clear coated.
