F06 M6 Rear Bumper On A 640 GC?

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone know or tried fitting the M6 rear bumper on a 640? Will it fit or does it require some modifications?

Thanks!

No issues, don't have to replace the whole bumper just the rear diffuser section.

Yes, as long as the rear bumper is an M Sport one.

I meant a rear bumper off the M6 model, not a M-Sport one.

The rear bumper cover (and side skirts) for M Sport and M6 is the same. The difference is in the lower trim.

All that really needs to change is the rear diffuser.

I had originally bought a 640i GC and just last month I got a set of used M-Sport kit for it, but the used rear bumper that I bought off eBay was for M6, that's why I was a bit confused about the fitment.

Thanks for all the replies/answers! You guys are fantastic!

Ok so I finally have time to send the car to a shop for the job.

Now I am having trouble positioning the new rear pipe tips, also the OEM MSport front bumper doesn't fit all that well for some reason... So we gonna see what I or mods we need to do to make the Msport front bumper fit better

Having trouble uploading pics from cell phone...

If you're going from standard to MSport/M6, the mounts are different (#14 in the pic). The exhaust on an M6 has different geometry as well so the trim insert is different on an MSport (#3 in the pic).

Prob a silly question but are the m6 exhaust pipes one pipe with a doubler on the end ??

I.e can I fit a m6 diffuser and then just buy double exhaust tips, or do you need a new exhaust when doing the back end ??

Thanks!

But I am actually only having trouble with the front bumper. The rear bumper fits actually very well. I checked the front bumper diagram, but couldn't figure out what else needs to be changed. I thought the standard 640i GC is the same as the M-sport packaged 640i GC, just plug and play...

Any BMW tech can offer some advice?

Thanks!

Here are some pics while they are fitting the bumpers and welding a double tip to the stock 604i exhaust...

No. The bumper (not the cover but what's behind it), crush structures, holders, some brackets, and air ducts are different.

Yes, figured that one out. Had to change some plastic parts to make it fit better!

Our BMW dealers in Taiwan apparently don't stock any parts and they order it from Malaysia... Weird thing is, they only place orders to Malaysia every Monday and Wednesday.... So I ordered on a Thursday and they will place the actual order on the following Monday.

I hate our dealers period.

But finished picture will come soon!
