I've had this plenty of times leaving cars outside in heavy rain with rotors over about 350mm

Even the Track I am a member of has reported this on several M, Porsche, Alfa 4C and AMG cars they own. The Break lecture I went to also discussed this and they recommended driving the cars and riding the breaks a little as this will dry the rotors/discs and pads so this does not happen after washing the cars or garaging them when wet. This also explains why the rotors have a coat of rust on them after put away wet.

Several track members with 911 GT4s, Audi R8s and Cayman GT4s have also reported this phenomenon

Thanks. It's always garaged, but after driving around in the wet, they're just wet. I don't think going back out to drive around in the wet will get them drier, but I can see about maybe just heating them up just a bit by a run around the block with more braking. That would dry the discs, but probably not the pads much. Glad I'm not crazy.
