Any suggestions as to how to make this next month or two go by faster/what did you do to make the ordering process fun once it started getting "real"?

Site hasn't updated but my CA emailed me and told me no more changes, as it got bumped to a week 19 production

I just want this thing to get to California already!

Oh, I got rid of it about a month ago! I had a friend take over the lease- he wired me a lump sum we agreed upon (since I prepaid the lease) and I shipped it back to the states.

I've been bimmer less since then

First-world problems Think about it this way...all your suffering now will make delivery that much sweeter!

Aye yi yi...first world problems indeed.

I can't believe this will be my first NEW car. Not a bad starting point

However- all the threads I've read about the wait on ordering being agonizing while I'd think to myself "they're being over dramatic"

I get it now. Hahaha

Weren't you the one that said you were not going to track, email or think about it until it arrives so it could be a great surprise? I feel like that was only a few days ago.

Lol, but you specifically told him not to. Well look at it this way, I have a week 26 build date, so your wait is at least much shorter than mine.

Oh man- hang in there. For me- it was easy to put on the back burner of my mind because i've been in the "special order approval" process for easily 6 weeks now. That's the problem with ordering a frozen color with a priority 1 interior. And because the color combo of the exterior with the interior I ordered hadn't been done yet by anyone with an m6+ the fact that it's coming as a 6 speed- they were giving me grief because "if you don't take the car, it will be very hard to sell" (ultimately I just wired the entire amount since it's a single pay)

So today was the first time it's felt very real.

Thanks, I am not too worried about it. Still have my current frozen 650 for now that I love , but I will have to sadly return it when are new x5 comes in the first week of June. The x5 will keep me busy for now.

Mr. S - have you used the 800-831-1117 number? I prefer it over My BMW because the 800# gives more info, such as when the car is in the paint shop prior to assembly, etc. It just makes it more fun, IMO.

This is news to me! is it automated or do I speak with a rep directly? Is my production number all I need to get the details?

It is VERY fun to drive, especially on open roads with a lot of twists and turns

Rush hour is a bit much but the clutch is really smooth so it's not that bad

Its automated, you can set it up on your cell phone where it automatically hits the correct keys, and puts in your production number, so that all you have to do is wait until the annoying voice tells you your status.

Example - 18008311117;2;66996489;1

If I use that as my bmw saved phone number, it will enter in the correct number on each prompt. Then go straight to the status.

I am confused, if you have a week 19 production date, why would it take a about a month to complete production? Doesn't it usually take a week or two?

I was going off what my CA would tell me- so it got delayed it a few weeks.
Wasn't til the last few days that I learned about "owners circle/my BMW". This whole ordering experience is completely new to me,not to mention I'm usually inundated with projects and dead lines to keep me busy most of the time to really care (up until this week when I made the time) as long as I know it's on it's way.

My last m6 was a take over, so I did no waiting whatsoever. This is actually my first new car in my 26 years of life.

You also have to keep in mind- my order is not common. Everything from exterior paint to interior is either special order or a priority 1 option. I was warned from every dealership before striking a deal that it would face a few delays due to the options. They also warned me that the order being individual+ a 6 speed in Southern California would be a bigger challenge.

It was supposed to have originally been delayed til week 24 completion however- so in all actuality- it got bumped up.
