Making the M6 Gran Coupe a flagship? I could see it go against the Panamera Turbo, AM Rapide, CLS65 AMG, and Audi S7. All of which are not their "flagship" models. How about an ///M7? It would go against the S65 AMG and the likes of. Shit, they already whored the ///M name to the X5, X6, X3, X1, 2, 3, 4.....

The higher ups in BMW must be mixing crack in their struedels and blintzes.

how comes some guys are so narrowed-minded and ignorant? this bimmer is for a niche market where Merc-Benz has CLS & Audi A7 already competing in this niche snapping some market share from customers who want a big luxurious sedan with a coupe look and feel. For lower-end, VW Passat CC....

Looks fantastic. I for one love that BMW has so many options of cars available to consumers. There is the right car for everyone somewhere in their lineup.. and agree with post above, this car is made for a niche market.

BMW has not lost their minds. It is exactly this reason why BMW wants to have this model when Merc & Audi has competing models which prove that there is a market for this niche. In marketing, it is called "Me too". You have it, I have it too so as not to lose that market segment to competitors. Meanwhile, it is also a "flanking strategy" by BMW in providing more options to avoid losing market share where competitors can bite into the current/future market share.

IMHO, this is what 5 should look like.

WELL said.... this should be the 9-series sedan even (of course Im not in marketing )

Very nice.

I don't know if the M6 will take the EXACT front airdame from the M5 though.

My guess is that it will not.

But for 115k I would take it over the Panamera/Panamera S.....

If regular 6 series is beyond $110k when loaded, I don't wanna think about what the price tag might hit when this thing gets loaded.

I like it a lot but...

I've got a feeling this won't be making much presence in the performance section, given what I expect the attainability to be, price wise.

There giving it a reason to exist by upping the power vs the M5, for there would be little to justify its existence had it been equivalent.

Wasn't the M6 going to have air curtains like on the 1 series M coupe? The render is inaccurate then?

Its main rivals will be Panamera Turbo/S, CLS 63/65 and S7/RS7.

It can't cost as a 1M, it is supossed to be like a vector for the image and the sales for BMW
It is also a 4 for door saloon, but it clearly more lifestyle oriented and this is the reason for nameing it a "coupe".
Also 5 and 7 series are more bussiness oriented, so they can go very well together.

Yes, the options costs on the 650i are a joke, as are the options come with car at base price. $5500 for upgraded sound with the B&O. Audi gets it done for $850.

Now, to the topic at hand, this is not a coupe, and losing market share to such an infantismal "market" would not be a big deal for BMW. Let Audi and Merc have that 1%. Why not make a sportier 7 if they feel the need for a large, overweight, high HP, sporty 4-door?
