Is your M6 noticed ?

I recently upgraded from an M4 to an M6 and I have noticed that I get less compliments on the car. Not that I care and it could be I'm in La now where an M6 isn't a big deal, but do you think the M4 is a flashier car then the M6? It's interesting as the M6 is more powerful and twice the price, but sometimes goes unnoticed. I don't think it has the sedan look like the M5, which I personally don't like much. Any thoughts?

Sometimes. Mostly due to the color. My old one turned more heads. Definitely due to the noise. Aftermaket exhaust cat deletes, and racing headers attract a lot of attention. I'll know in a few weeks if I get more attention with my new exhaust.

I don't care either. The people that notice now are people that appreciate cars, so it leads to good conversation usually.

X2. Color is a big factor. My san marino blue gets thumps up and wave at everywhere I go. People stare so much I had to get my windows tinted. If you want attention just wrap it with another color.

So true. That blue, people absolutely love it. At least half have no idea what an M is, let alone an M6. Some dude at the car wash was pointing to my car, and telling his friends about it. Saying how expensive it is and how it has a lot of HP. I didn't hear how much, but it didn't sound like 560,i think he said 4 something. I was tempted to tell him. Lol

My Austin Yellow M4 gets more compliment and looks more flashy than my Sakhir Orange M6 and I have no idea why... however I was living in OC when I was driving M6 and now Im in Bay area with M4....Maybe the size is playing a role??? anyways I love M6 more than M4

I was so tempted to buy an M3/4. I've always wanted one. I'm 99% I would have regretted it. I absolutely love my M6. When I got my first 1, I was in very good situation financially, I could have bought a more expensive car but my heart is with the M6.

I hope I can own another M while having this one. It'd be tough between the M5 and M3/4, but I'd lean towards the 3. Just for the handling, it would be much different than the 6. Hell, even the M2 is looking good. I'm a bit shocked by the price though. Was looking today and they were in the high 60s/low 70s. Looks like a fun car though. At that price though, as much as I love bmw, I don't think I could get the M2. I'd probably lean more towards a c7 vette. Maybe even the X6M. Love that thing.

My Singapore Grey F06 M6 gets far more attention than my F13 Alpine 650 coupe that was lowered, custom wheels, muffler delete, etc. I think the Gran Coupe in the SG just comes at people like "why is that blue-ish grey whale moving so fast!"

I get plenty of attention, more than I want sometimes.
My Jaguar F-Type R gets the most attention out of all my cars though.

After all my mods for looks and then sound and performance I get lots of looks with the Alpine white exterior and all the CF bits I can get, plus SO interior M6 cabrio
and then there are the FARTS that just demand attention

Then again ... My two Diamond White AMGs with Porcelain interiors and as much CF bits as possible also get a lot of looks.
Mind you the GLS 63 that is stock (soon to get Renntech) has great FARTS as is as well

But it maybe many fewer exotics up here to compete with in Canada Eh!

Or just could be the Sound of the Farts Eh!

If you want attention, do what I did, ditch the Ms and go to an i8.

Sure- it's a totally different experience/drive -

But you'll never walk away from your car and wonder if someone hasn't noticed you.

But yes, the m4 has a more "young" look despite the m6 having more presence. People look at m6s and without a doubt know it's an expensive vehicle- but only an enthusiast would know what it is. The m4 has a more youthful look that would call the attention of the common eye/the younger crowd can awe over because it's not far fetched that they could have one too. A 130k car- not so much.

That's so horrible... Another reason I don't want to get noticed. I'm very fearful of something bad happening. I feel for you bro. That's so damn bad.

Lots of exotics here in South Florida too. I definitely see my fair share of M cars, M3/4 being the most common. I think I see more M6s then 5s too, probably due to the weather and convertible option.

My M6 gets tons off thumbs up and cameras being pulled out for pics. It could be all the carbon or maybe the exhaust note the car gives. my car is BSM on Sakhir so the exterior color is pretty standard. But again.. car gets a ton of looks.

6 er by itself gets enough attention but I believe your BSM M6 gets attention because of exhaust sound as you said especially in NY. Here is California the majority of cars are in white or black and to be honest with you it's not easy to distinguish if it's M6 or 6er for people how are not familiar with M cars... bodywise they are very similar even the CF roof is kind of black to be similar to black moonroof of 6 er. Bumpers are more aggressive than 6 er but again very similar to M sport package for not expert people. The only difference is the rotors and exhaust tip which are no very obvious except the color of calipers; So the sound makes a big difference...

Definitely! I think the m2 is a bit small, but I still like it. I don't think I can ever go back to an inline 6 again. The V8 m perf exhaust note is too addicting!

Nice! Mine is also SG and I love that color. It's dark enough to give me that almost black color I love but stays much cleaner!

You're 100% correct. I thought about the i8 and honestly I don't need attention, it was more of an observation. My M4 was also fully modded and awesome and I liked the look more but it's funny, a lot of younger people would always comment on my car, gas stations, on the road etc. Now I get people like my own parents saying "beautiful car" and that worries me lol

While I have all of you on this thread, what do you think about my current spoiler? I don't like it but going to M perf would almost look the exact same, thoughts? It doesn't look aggressive enough to me. Vorsteiner CF spoiler instead? I am waiting to install my new gloss black side grilles next week and will have new wheels soon as I have to do something!

I'm also getting a tune and intake. I am getting my m perf valves opened next week, so hopefully it will be even louder. I'm afraid the downpipes will cause issues!
