I disagree with all your points except the weight which is slight. As far as prestige, the B6 is much more of that. The engine is hand-built by Alpina and then installed by BMW. B6 Annual production numbers to the US are limited to 300 (Not to be confused with M6 top speed which is limited, unlike the B6).

Actually it's BMW (see link above) that says:
B6 Horsepower is 600 vs M6's 552
B6 Torque is 590 vs M6's 502
B6 0 to 60 time is 3.6 seconds vs M6 @ 4.1 seconds

I'm not trying to convince anybody or prove that M6 is the best but when the comparison between two cars is the subject, I would search to see what's the actual difference and the best way to have the reasonable comparison is to see the result by "one source" and consider apple to apple.
Dinan as a well-known tuner has already put both cars on dyno.
The 2015 B6 is claimed (by manufacturer) 540 HP and has been measured (by Dinan) as 540 HP. Exactly what manufacturer claims.
http://www.dinancars.com/product/d44...ries&mid=1234/

On the other side Dinan has performed the same test for M6 and has measured 618 HP (compare to 560 HP manufacturer claimed).
http://www.dinancars.com/product/d44...ries&mid=1157/

I'm not claiming these numbers are accurate, but I can accept S63tu on M6
generates over 70 HP more than 2015 B6.

I will wait to see the result for 2016 B6 which is claimed 600 HP and I think the result must be very closed to the manufacturer claim. If that's the case then B6 engine is not generating any power more than M6 while for sure (and we can confirm) is much heavier than M6. And as I mentioned before the AWD car with this weight cannot perform better than RWD because of "physics". There are many similar cars out there can be evaluated (and has been already evaluated) by different magazines and professional drivers.
B6 GC cannot perform better than RS7 or CLS63 or even E63 and it's proved that M6 perform much better than those cars EXCEPT 0-60 or short distance acceleration.

As far as 0-60 numbers we have discussed a lot and there are many threads all over the place in this forum. S63tu is highly underrated by BMW and the numbers on website are not accurate. There are many magazines performed different tests and result shows M6 is much faster than what is claimed by manufacturer (the same as power and torque)
here is one of the reports for M6 GC by C&D :
Curb weight: 4395 lb
Zero to 60 mph: 3.7 sec
Zero to 100 mph: 8.0 sec
Zero to 130 mph: 13.0 sec
Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 4.0 sec
Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.1 sec
Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.8 sec
Standing ¼-mile: 11.9 sec @ 124 mph

Like i said, let's see one of those B6's on a dyno.. The manufacturer can "say" anything they like, but as a driver and a realist I look to real world figures from the people who own and drive the cars, not the salesman selling it to you. Alpina is old news, there is nothing prestige about them and //M division is doing so well that companies like Alpina are just around to cater to those 300 people they can shove into one of their modified cars at a taxed rate because they don't know any better. There is nothing special about Alpina to a driver, they are no AMG let's put it that way.

Also in the end, here's something to mull over.. The Alpina is a custom tuned car, take the M6 and throw a custom tune in it like BMS and you have a 700whp car, or as Alpina would say, a 800hp car and that's game over folks.

Agreed. You could modify an M6 to have more power and torque than a B6. Anything is possible.
