Got it!

Collected the car from the dealer last night!

Have only done 24 miles in it so far.

One quick question...are the engine cooling fans meant to stay on for at least 10 minutes after you turn off the engine?

Great to hear. Congratulations on getting your car!

All the fan and pump noises are to preserve engine and turbo life. It is normal. Check other threads about battery issues though. I think many are turning off that auto start feature that cuts the motor off when stopped then restarts it as you want to go. As I recall it is something about the charging system only working or working best during decal in gear, something we apparently do not do enough of over here. The result is some battery failures and a service bulletin about changing the battery to a 108 AH from 90 something to compensate. I don't know if they are doing that in England. Do a search for battery problem to be sure about this. I may not have all of this exactly correct.

Nice…wheres the pics!

And yes it does that your previous M’s would have done the same - my E60 did.

Awesome!

Yep. The fans are on for a few minutes, sometimes longer than 10 with some spirited driving.

Yes they do run for some time, don't worry, put the battery on trickle once a month IF you don't drive it much.

Thanks all for the kind comments!
Is it possible to stop the passenger mirror dipping when reverse is selected?
Cheers

In BMWs in general, you prevent that mirror dip when in reverse by moving the little mirror adjustment selector switch to the right hand position, so in the U.S. NOT the driver's mirror. So as if you are adjustting the passenger outside mirror, just leave the selector in that position. Anyway, one of the mirror selector positions will do it, I bet. I assume it's the same on a 2016 M6. I'll find out in August....

Would you do the rear lights as well?

The front ones look fantastic immediately dating the 13-15 models, but the rears are far more subtle
