On the remap/tune..not really the case that if you tune the new M6 it will have a higher end result..no..all end up in the same ballpark..for example the 30 Jahre tune and the non-CP tune for the M5 at BR performance produces the same Stage I final numbers..so the M6 is really just the 30 Jahre software upgrade plus suspension etc..

If you look at BR Performance website for their tune for the M5 30 Jahre the final figures for their Stage I tune are the same as non cp.
I think it's the same for the new M6. The remap will produce the same final result. Look at the difference.. There isn't one..

The horsepower on the boosted cars is nil once a tune is added. For example, the non comp M6 psi may be 7, with the comp being 9. A tuner will up it to 11 or so resulting in identical power after the tune for either model.
Unless there are mechanical upgrades to the comp pack, a tune will level the playing field.
Same reason a tuned 1m and 35i produce the same power.

I find it somewhat tacky that some of this stuff isn't just included stock. Why make an option for more speed, more tuned suspension and traction control? This is an M car, it should already have the best tuned suspension, etc...

So M4 is faster? I thought 0-60 was supposed to be 3.6?

But a simple tune on the new comp package will achieve even higher numbers than a simple tune on the old comp package.

I understand your logic- but to us who own an m6 and don't track the car- it doesn't make a difference in city life.
Then why buy an M of version of the 6 from the first place if you don't care about driving characteristics of a car?

Because I can? What's it to you?

If I lived near a track I would, but I don't. So you think because I don't track my vehicle I shouldn't own one as a daily driver? I have a busy schedule as it is, and unfortunately what I do for a living has nothing to do with cars so it's not like I would have a reason to trek out to one- most 26 year olds can't afford this kind of vehicle on their own.
It's always been my dream to own an M and now that's possible.

Maybe to 60, but not above that. This was discussed extensively over on f80 post. The fact that the M6 is a sub 4 sec to 60 while weighing what it does....damn.

Why so butt hurt? He brings up a good point.

If you don't care so much about power, then look away from competition pkg and tunes...which is along the same lines as an M model.

If you care about power and adding a little more...umfff, to the car, then you consider an M, competition pkg, tunes, etc.

Don't downplay a tune or competition pkg though.

I'm not downplaying it? I understand and praise anyone who goes for it, especially if they can take advantage of it. Unfortunately, I can not

I guess it took me by surprise that someone would question the reason behind I'd get a m6. Did not mean for it to come off as "butt hurt"

And I did look away from the comp package/tunes. Hence why my individual 2016 M6 is currently in production

Release says the wheels are exclusive, but aren't they also available on the F10 Competition Package, and prior M6 Competition Package?

This is the LCI. New generation m6 won't come until at least 2019/2020

Please do.

However- Bmw Generations last 6 production years. That I'm sure of. In the U.S.- we are only into the 4th year
