Gran coupe and kids ?

Hey guys I'm looking to get rid of my 550i. I'm about to have a new born soon.
Will the Gran Coupe be kid / car seat friendly ? I ask because of the rear center console.

It's a lot more kid friendly than it is adult friendly. Would be hard to put a child seat in the center seat. There is a decent thread about child seat models that fit under the rear headrest. It's doable, but you apparently need to be careful about which child seat you use.

new born will be fine as it will be rear facing. The group 2/3 seats is a bit of a challenge because of the rear headrests but as pointed out there are options that fit.

I've got a Maxi-Cosi Familyfix Isofix Base with a Maxi-Cosi Pearl car seat with no issues. I would recommend also using a Diono Ultra Mat to protect the seat from any indentations from the car seat.

Si senor. The rears are a little more 'bucket' style than your F10 but it'll be fine for infant seats and convertible seats. I have a Chicco Nextfit and it fits well. The only issue is that since it's fairly tight in the rear, my 2.5 year old has her feet flat against the rear of my seat. When she gets bigger, I'm going to have to switch her seat over to the passenger side and hopefully won't have the same issue as in our past F10 where no one can sit in the front passenger seat.

Does anyone have any experience installing a front facing car seat in a 650i convertible? I tried rear-facing and there was no way that was going to work. Is there a style of car seat that is more conducive to the 650i? We have another car in which we have the car seat, but my 2 year old son is obsessed with my car and cars in general and I want to see his face when I put the pedal to the metal.

Thanks!

When I was little (many years ago) Dad used to just sit us on his lap as we cruised in the big white Buick Electra 225 with the red leather interior and the roof down. Learned to drive that way too.
I guess those days are gone forever.
Sigh.

Be careful with the Diono Ultra Mat if you have any other color interior bedsides Black. If you have Opal, Sakhir, or any other color, the Diono Ultra Mat will leave black marks/stains which are near impossible to remove.
