Spray Painting Kidney Grills

Been wanting to swap to a black kidney grill and side markers since day one of me having the car, but due to having night vision option I was unable to find pre made black ones, IND do offer black double slatted kidney grill (M6 style) which also has the night vision bracket at a cost of $370 USD and $230 USD for the side markers, on top of that I was unable to confirm if the double slatted M6 grills they sell would fit my night vision camera, which resulted in some DIY.

Pretty happy w the results, I do want to explore switching to double slatted grills in the future if I can find out if the night vision bracket is a direct fit

I only sanded lightly with 600 to make the surface rough, I was too lazy to completely sand the chrome off, and those tabs are really flimsy the longer u sand the more chance you have in breaking them tabs.

I dont think I will have bonding issues as long as there is primer or adhesion agents.

What kind of front lips you have ? I've been looking for a good one. They just wouldn't fit 650

u have to remove screws on the upper front bumper to get a the kidney grill tabs from behind, there are plenty of videos online, F10 5 series is pretty much the same so you can look at those videos too
